Just say NO!

Should you or a loved one ever let this cross your mind, please let me know. I'll be glad to walk you through an intervention.

It sounded so innocent at first. Little did I know what it would do to both me and the hubby. Blow our own insulation in the attic? Sure, hubby says, we'll save a truck load of dough. And I get to wear my cute little construction-type boots and gloves. I'll look like one of the hot chicks from Tool Time. Fun, right? Hubby's in the attic blowing, I'm on the ground. My job is to cut open the bags and feed the beast of a blower. HOLY CATFISH! 10 hours and 72 bags of insulation later (the good recycled newpaper kind, not itchy scratchy dangerous kind) and both of us can barely move. ...Did we save a truck load of money? Probably. Was it worth it? Undecided. I'll let you know when I can stand up straight again and my snot is no longer gray. Some things really are better left to the pros.

My dear, you should have called me. My whole attic (about 1200 sq ft) was blown in under an hour for $420.00

I hope you feel better soon!

Let the Pros do it.
If I need anything done in my attic, I would let someone else do it. I maybe more expensive, but the time is less and then the bending and straighting issue is nil ;). I am a firm believer in if I can't or won't do it and there is someone out there that can do it and do it quickly then I will hire them.

Hope you feel better, soon.

Man, that sounded like a sincere exclamation of exhaustion!

But, may I point out that you're really not done yet: The proper completion of a home improvement project requires the ritual treat-yourself step, which should also be part of the budget planned. Every good project should end with a new dance toy, or a trip to Sephora, or something in that realm! Otherwise, it's just some bang-up job ;-) I speak with great authority here!!!

My marriage would not survive it! Thanks for the heads up.

Hope your snot is as it should be, soon enough!
