My Testimonials

February 15, 2007
Rob is one of the best friends I've ever had. And the bulk of our relationship has been through iChat. But not all of it, and maybe not some of the more important parts. Rob is someone who can- - very gently-- make you see all of the things you've been trying not to see, and he can also-- very forcefully-- make you see all of the things you've been trying not to see, (on purpose) for whatever reason. And that is unspeakably valuable. more than words. rob is... amazing. and so worth... it. whatever it is.

Rob is like a hippy who is employed, showers, into technology and has a brain. He is a hip geek. Rob is attentive and caring. I can't believe he actually reads all the poo I post, but he does. Just get to know him, it'll be good for you.

I don't really trust too many people. But I trust Rob. Even though there's a lot of him i don't really know about, I have come to understand that he is a genuinely kind, funny, respectful guy, and that's all that matters. I respect him tremendously as a co-worker, but most of all, as my friend, and appreciate his understanding when I was a hard friend to have.

Also, he can fix your computer just by LOOKING at it. I'm serious. Ask him one day.

When I first moved here, and he showed me the ropes, and things like you get dressed in your gear BEFORE you leave the bush plane, I felt like a middle school kid who finally got to sit with the cool kids at lunch.

And I was right.

Rob is patient with a controlling freak for a spouse and allways suprises me with his depth of understanding of my emotional blunders.
October 3, 2006
Rob is ... extremely tall. At least from the perspective of a short person like me. But he's not tall like Godzilla or the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man, where he tries to destroy your city, he's tall like the Jolly Green Giant who takes care of people and makes sure the weather is always nice and sunny. Rob gives good advice, knows what he's talking about, and combines the right proportions of penetrating insight with dashes of humor. Rob's a right good man.

I don't believe in god, or gods, or a personification of "something bigger than us." but I do believe that we all can learn from the wisdom of forgiveness.

The tax plans, as visualized:
"According to a new analysis by the Tax Policy Center, a joint project of the Urban Institute and the Brookings Institution, Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain are both proposing tax plans that would result in cuts for most American families. Obama's plan gives the biggest cuts to those who make the least, while McCain would give the largest cuts to the very wealthy. For the approximately 147,000 families that make up the top 0.1 percent of the income scale, the difference between the two plans is stark. While McCain offers a $269,364 tax cut, Obama would raise their taxes, on average, by $701,885 - a difference of nearly $1 million."

"Up until I turned 40, I can honestly say that whenever I saw somebody who I considered old, you know, like...40...I would just look at them, completely unable to relate and, to be honest, totally unaccepting of the idea that one day that would be me. "

I repeat, "one day that would be me." It's good for me to remember that, barring any catastrophe or illness, I will BE that older person driving the car in front of me. We are all connected.
