</a>
<div>Since each session is only 4 weeks long, I have decided to sharpen the focus of these classes a bit. These classes will be "non-denominational" if you will... meaning I am not presenting a particular style (tribal, Egyptian, etc). This focus does not mean that this is only what the session will be about... just that there will be a method to my madness. &amp;lt;insert evil laugh here> ;)

Session 1 (May 28 - June 18) will explore sharp, staccato movements and shimmies.

Session 2 (June 25 - July 16) will explore smooth moves.

Session 3 (July 23 – Aug 20 (no class 8/6) will explore the art of the drum solo.

Session 4 (Aug 27 – Sept 17) will explore veil work.

Wednesdays from 6:00 - 7:00... I hope to see some of you there!

Wow. There must be something in the air around here. I think I am in shock, but it's a good kind of shock. We so need something like this to happen around here and for once, I actually heard about it in advance!

We are sad today, and we will be sad for quite a while. We are not moving on, we are embracing our mourning.

We are Virginia Tech.

We are strong enough to stand tall tearlessly, we are brave enough to bend to cry, and we are sad enough to know that we must laugh again.

We are Virginia Tech.

We do not understand this tragedy. We know we did nothing to deserve it, but neither does a child in Africa dying of AIDS, neither do the invisible children walking the night away to avoid being captured by the rogue army, neither does the baby elephant watching his community being devastated for ivory, neither does the Mexican child looking for fresh water, neither does the Appalachian infant killed in the middle of the night in his crib in the home his father built with his own hands being run over by a boulder because the land was destabilized. No one deserves a tragedy.

We are Virginia Tech.

The Hokie Nation embraces our own and reaches out with open heart and hands to those who offer their hearts and minds. We are strong, and brave, and innocent, and unafraid. We are better than we think and not quite what we want to be. We are alive to the imaginations and the possibilities. We will continue to invent the future through our blood and tears and through all our sadness.

We are the Hokies.

We will prevail.

We will prevail.

We will prevail.

We are Virginia Tech.</div>

<div>Ok, I am going to play along, but also be lame and not tag anyone else in return. :P

My name isn’t really Danielle. It is supposed to be Danelle. My mother named me after my French grandfather, but since our last name is Scottish, she thought she would take the “i” out so I wouldn’t have a French first name and a Scottish last name… I know, it doesn’t make any sense to me either… After I was born, everyone started telling her that she had misspelled my name. She caved into the peer pressure and inserted a hand-written “I” onto my birth certificate. I figure it's got to be considered legal by now since I’ve been going by Danielle ever since.

I got into body mods at a very young age. :) When I was learning to walk as a baby, I fell and hit my chin on a coffee table. I had about 4 teeth at the time… 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom… and they went through my tongue quite cleanly and left a little attached on both sides. I still have a scar across the end of my tongue. A few years later, I ended up slicing the underside my tongue with a big plastic horn. Needless to say, I have never had a need for a tongue piercing. :P

My great-grandmother was a rumrunner for the mob in Chicago… and was rumored to be a woman of ill repute. I just wish that I could have met her.

I love Elvis, but my mom loves him more. My first concert ever was Elvis in Tampa, FL when I was a wee child. I am big fan now but I wasn’t into him at the time. I am very appreciative now that my mom insisted that I see him live.

I am horribly painfully shy. Most people assume that I am a bitch or unfriendly when in reality, I am just plain terrified. I don’t know why. I am usually okay in a small group, but throw in more than 6-8 people and I can completely shut down. I am basically a lurker both online and off.

The oh-so-artfully placed ;) streak in my hair is courtesy of the genes on my father’s side of the family.

I love to cook, I love to travel and I am totally in love with Anthony Bourdain.

I live in town but I have cows for neighbors. Moo.
