about me
I am an eclectic, multifaceted person. Mom, IT Manager, Theatre Freak, Geek, Gamer, Gardener, Explorer, SciFi Fan, GirlFriend, Lover, Zoo Keeper, Photographer, Writer, Bad Joke Teller, Empath, all of these are me plus more. I have been called a chamelion, but am really just very flexible. In the last 5 years I have become very patient, but love the small joys and excitements of life. First flowers, trees budding, ice metling. Silly things thrill me.

I hate Reality TV

As a Rule, even. I will not even start watching a show once it is billed as "reality". I think it shows a deep loss of creativity in our general culture that people can not come up with new forms of entertainment other than setup competitions and extreme voyeurism. With One Exception. Project Runway. I can not explain this. I is almost embarrassing to admit how much I love this show. There is no explaining it. I have tried to rationalize it to myself: " the show is a competition, but the contestants have to be creative to stay on"- HA! so do the folks on American Idol or Worlds Most Talented Dog ( I made that one up, but it could be a show, right?) and truth is- I Hate those shows. I find them painful and tormented to watch. The judging process kills me. " I am just jealous because I can not sew, and I am amazed"- Right!! Like I could sing or cut hair or survive in the wilderness or have seduce every guy on the show ( ok, well, maybe the last one- but--moving on...) Honestly, I think it is the clothes. I am in lust with the amazing clothes cranked out every week. I want to be one of those models ( NOT likely) just so I could wear some of them. Oh. My. God. The clothes... I do not even mind watching the judging process-- does not matter if I agree or disagree. I hate the personal drama and soap opera that develops and have been known to skip episodes ( or even a half a season once) when it gets to be TOO much. But I keep coming back. For the clothes. The new contestants had great quotes on this topic for the kickoff this season. One of the female designers said " life is too short to wear a bad outfit", and another male designer admitted to sleeping on the floor at home because " I would rather spend money on clothes than a bed". So, I was excited that Hulu includes some of the Bravo shows and this is one of them. If this keeps up, between Joost and Bravo, Netflix for movies-- I am "this" close to dumping my cable TV, spending the money we save on a great PC/Flat screen setup for the Living room and just run from that. Really. I need to find someone who is picking up Discovery Channel and BBC shows first, though. If you have an IP in the US, I bring you the kickoff of season 4 of Project Runway: ( if you are not in the US, write NBC an email and bitch at them....)

My right hip continues to complain. I am certain it is related to bad ergonomics in front of the computer, sleeping on a couch or futon for 4 nights or some odd thing.

When I stand with y feet together, bend my left knee and raise and lower my left leg- nothing. When I do the same with the my leg? Pop Crack. Pop. Ouch. It is not just the noise, I could live with that, it is the stiff, the soreness and lack of movement. It is the grab and the Ouch whenever I bend. It does not seem inflamed.. but I can sometimes find the really knotted muscle. Sitting is just bad right now- that gives me pulling and soreness at the back of my hip.. low down and to the center.. almost at my tailbone, but not on it. Moving around too much puts the pain more to the front of the hip and to the outer edge. The two points make a diagonal line if connected through my body. I woke p like this yesterday and it is just progressing worse and worse ( of course I am sitting more and more today...) Suggestions?? I am tired of hurting now...
