London, St Albans, Where?

   Thu, March 23, 2006 - 1:45 PM
I am in St Albans, just north of London, staying with family as I work on a film here for a few weeks. Keeping sane by going to the Wave dances in North London, and doing yoga. I say sane, what I mean is that I come to the UK apprehensive about how buttoned up the English have sometimes seemed to me (and I am one of them), and after years in California I feel more open and less guarded than ever I did before, and I really want to hang on to this. And the Wave is a big help to me.

It is cold here, and grey, but I am really enjoying the film, and the music I am writing, and the challenge of being here and trying to experience London in new ways, being open to whatever happens. I hope to do a GSBB while here, but don't know yet where to do it, or how I will set it up. Any thoughts?

Charlie just described the GSBB in these terms...

"QUESTION: What encourages naughtiness and noisiness and love and is almost
as good as sex? ANSWER: Rolfe's Budda Bowl - a peaceful medicine man,
leading the mad music sung by lovely friends with smiling abandon and
whimsical inspiration."

"don't worry if you aren't a singer, the budda bowl is less about the
singing and more about the ringing."

"Positively Whimsical"
