Musings

Boreas

We all throw our love away sometimes
As the seed that falls among weeds is choked
Or on the cold stone and cannot take root
So too could the helpless seed of our love not grow

We are dandelion seeds being taken by the wind
Brave little paratroopers wisking away
To unknown fates
We are all these seeds at once
Landing everywhere

This one has taken root
It flowers and bears fruit
Knowledge bearing fruit
Bearing not the knowledge of good and evil
But the knowledge that
Beyond these concepts and petty judgements
There is nothing
But the gentle laugh
And the endless dance
Of creation
Waiting for. . .
Nothing
Not even us
As we are swept away by the winds of change

Life ever past

Here to stay for awhile. It's amazing how we cling to relationships for dear life only to strangle them with our death-grip. A dear friend recently told me the three elements he considers to be of great importance in relationships: Love, trust, and letting go. If the love and trust is there, there is no fear in letting go. The truth is nothing to be afraid of and can't be held still; it is changing form, learning to be flexible. I'm doing a lot of foundational work as Saturn looms on th... read more

to escape California. So, Morningstar and I are returning to Heartwood to do some chefing for awhile, and to store up some more monetary energy before we make our next foolhardy venture. The goat farm was a major disapointment. They were not organic or sustainable by any stretch of the imagination, nor were they striving to be. It was a nightmare, we'll leave it at that. So, we've just been on a cross country tour, and we're about to kick it in reverse. To all of you on the west coast, ... read more

Yes, I am returning to Humboldt county. I was willing to try Bellingham on for size, having never set foot there before, because Morningstar resonated with the place. Morningstar is from San Fransico, so Bellingham seemed little, but not too little, to her. Personally, I like my towns no bigger than they absolutely have to be. Bellingham has a lot of sprawl compared to Arcata and I found myself navigating through it, applying at jobs that were only going to pay me minumum wage to wash dis... read more

Was fabulously filthy. I arrived in Barcelona, after a four hour layover in Amsterdam in the wee hours of the morning, and made my way to the squat. Somehow I managed to end up in Terrassa, a suburb of Barcelona, instead of Torrassa, the metro stop in Barcelona where I was supposed to go. This was partly because I decided to be smarter than the written directions, and just find my own way. I was also tired, did I mention? Some nice older fellow who only spoke spanish tried to help me, sw... read more

I am currently WWOOFing (willing workers on organic farms) on Cape Clear Island in Ireland on a goat farm. Goats are very intelligent, surefooted creatures, and I am happy to be one according to Chinese astrology. They run accross mountains like it's a piece o' cake. So, I've been milking them in the mornings. For any vegans who might read this. . . well, I never know what to say to ya'll. -Except soybean production is unsustainable, and pleather production is toxic. At any rate, the goa... read more
