My Blog

Well, I'm back, World!

The only thing that is missing are a few key letters and numbers on my keyboard....

So, I have to be creative about how I choose my words. Burning Man was a blast! I sent my time in the Red Nose District again this year! I saw the Man burn twice, the first time with the moon in full glowing red mode!

Made a lot of new friends and more than my fair share of sexual encounters.
I've washed out my clothes, done the filing, worked my way out from being broke, lol. Feels good...

So, how are you all...

My goals for the next month - finish my novel and my screen lay (hint - there's a missing letter on my keyboard
guess which one...

After that I want to start to work on com osing my first o era. I've written a cou le of musicals...God this
looks like shit without the letters I need...sorry! Anyway, I've got a new Mac and I'm ready to learn to use the musci
software - or maybe I'll just go old school. The title - this is waaay cool...Eraserhead! David Lynch is going to drive u for the remier! We'll be doing it at Goat Hall for their new music series. Always a great turn-out for that.

I just got some books from the library on marketing and I'm going to use the techniques to see if I can get a gig at Bueana Vista Cultural Center. Hell, why go to all the trouble of writing and directing a full fucking length work if you don't at least take a styab at making it into a career! wft! Kisses to all...Vixen

Getting Ready for Take Off!

Last night I spent the evening with old friends and new at Kinky Salon; they had a bit of a "fun" raiser to pick up some cash before heading out to build the Minigolf course. BTW, we'll be located right out in front of the Red Nose district at 7pm and Esplanade! Peepshow Minigolf, git yer hole on!

The most fun I've been having lately is playing with my tools in my shop with all the cool new aquaintances I've been making on craigslist, enlisting folks who want to come over and help me build this project.

I'm learning so much this way about different kinds of power tools and how to do electrical wiring; apart from actual sex, this is the closest I've come with my clothes on to having an orgasm! Anyone out there get a hard on when you need a...oh, let's say a 5/8" hex wrench with a bolt and you HAVE it and can just whip it out??? I am either totally wierd or incredibly repressed, hehe.

UPDATE: the hypno wheel has been built! It is 5.5' feet in diameter, huge! We mounted it onto a pully wheel and did a direct mount onto a motor sitting on a post. But that motor was underpowered, so we disconnected it. then we pulled another motor we had, but it needed wiring! it was 10pm and we didn't have any flux, so we went to a party, instead! what a life I lead, honestly.

The S/M bunnies now are cut from plywood and stand 8' high! We've been trying to come up wth a catchy name for them, so far the best we've been able to come up with was "Hop on Top", lol!

Blog-a-licious!

So much has been happening! took over my new garage space last night and it was wonderful: so much space, and great workshelves and cabinets, too. It was a great pleasure, believe me, to take my tools and my bike down there, and finally be able to walk behind my Tiki Bar, lol!

Nothing thrills the boy in me than to be able to organize my tools and parts, lol.

And we used the space to cut out the last of the forms for my minigolf hole, Vixen Vortex's Hypno-Hole. The eight foot S/M bunnies with whips have been pronounced fuckable by my buds Jim and Andy, who worked on them. We got a 5.5' spinning disk made, too!

What remains is to transfer the spinning disk image onto the boards, and paint the disk and the bunnies. what fun!

In the meantime, my search for knowlegeagble mates continues: we now need to mount the motor to a pully and build a simple gear box, then construct a ramp, a box or scaffold for the minigolf game and voila! we'll be done.

Hey, does anyone out there wanna camp with me and help host the hole? Hit me back with your ideas! I'm going to be dressed as a combination stage magician/stage magicians assistant and carnival barker, with some stripper thrown in for good measure. I'm already writing the patter. Have an idea or a gimmick? Write me!

Just Another Day, Another Arm Wrestle With the Computer

A tribe buddy came over last night and I cooked him a wonderful salmon dinner and he tried valiently to install Tiger on my hard drive, but I suspect I have a bad drive: the install didn't take and was aborted three times, and on the third attempt, the computer crashed with a kernel panic!

We couldn't even get the monitor to work...although I knew that the computer was rebooting fine.
There's something like two other OS's currently installed and I think we need to uninstall them first, is my guess. I asked him about that, but he said it didn't matter, since there was a partition...

Anyhow, I am now taking the thing in to be serviced. Lost another arm wrestle with the tin god.

The Long and Winding Road...

time is a long and winding road...

here I am at the tribe site again, after many months of absence. I got disgusted with the contacts I'd made here and decided that there was just too much shallowness in the world and not enough time for me to waste it!

then, i got pulled back in for a spell. I looked at all the invitations I'd ignored and the mail that I never opened, and made a few tentative replies. I think this time I can make this space work better for me: for one thing, I've grown in the vision of myself as a professional artist. I have concrete plans and the knowledge that I cannot acheive them in a vacuum. having this concrete set of tasks seems to me to be the frame for the art that is my life.

Before, I was just looking to have a good time and meet nice folks, but looking back on that approach, it's not selective enough to weed out the time wasters. Yep, tasks and goals do bring people of like minds together and shared meaningful experiences do indeed forge better friendships.

I'm looking for other talented composers and filmmakers, so if you're out there, and you're reading this, feel free to respond! Oh, yeah, and Moo is my new kitten, he's the one in the photo on the far right, looking right at the camera!

Tough Decisions

Do you ever wake up and know what you have to do? Something that seemed intractible the night before is now chrystal clear - albeit that hardly translates into something easy to do, it is simply resolved that you must do it!

Well, my relationship with Steve Mobia can be said to be at this juncture at the moment; where, if I were to stay around him it is clear (to me, at least) that it would only be perpetuating what I see as an unhealthy relationship. Not that there isn't love and mutual respect - it is from this sense of love and respect that I feel we must part ways - for now.

If you don't know who Steve Mobia is, you can go to his new site at stevemobia.com Just don't tell him I sent you there, it's still in alpha mode, according to him. But trust me, it's very cool. I've included an image from the site to go with this entry in my blog.

Thoughts on bonding with computer equipment

Why is it that we spend so much time trying to figure out wtf is going on/wrong with our damned computers?! I got this lovely gift and it is a G4, very nice new computer, very powerful, and it is threatening to suck the life out of me. Or it is a black hole type time vortex I've fallen into.

Just kidding. I'm solving the problems. I want to compose music and edit my films on the computer, but most of the software won't load. I need to re-install Tiger to one of the drives that is larger than the other. It's a configuration thing....so I'm off to find a friend with Tiger. Know anyone?
