Hello, my name is Daigo, and i do a project called Resonant Philharmonic Orchestra. it's like a band with a flowability as members change all the time. but i stay. you know.

About my music life.
i was a little late comer. that's why i don't have the perfect pitch, but i practice it. i started playing piano at age 9, quickly moved to composing. at 10, I did the 1st composition which was the cadence for the boyscout's drumline. at 11, i started nagging my parents about how i needed a synthesizer(not the keyboard). i just loved the techno and house when i was in the elementary school and wanted to make techno tracks. every one thought i was a weirdo, but what could i do. great. a yamaha synthesizer with a built-in sequencer was going to be given to me for my 14th birthday, but i was a serious prick. i looked around the damn house before my b-day, and found it, nagged and pleaded saying "i need this synthesizer right now!!!!!", and started using it at age 13. thanks mom. I started playing in the band at 12. my choice was a sax but the music teacher told me to play horn after looking at my embouchure. oh well. so i commited to this instrument and i am stilll playing it! i started djing at 17 in my bed room...yep i was once a bed room dj. i came to the states in 99 for the school. oh btw, i am from japan. now that i am a total music theory maniac. i have been playing in the weber state symphony orchestra as a principal horn player. Now I moved to California. working for Several audio productions and write commercial music!

About my DJ-ism

i used to dj. but i realized - why should I spin other people's music? after a while, i kinda lost respect to the djs who don't even know how to make music and act like rockstars as they think djing is the shit... but I do respect turntablists!! that's a total different story, but i don't want to call myself a dj anymore.

meaning, why don't you play a premixed cd. sorry for my stupid troll, but that's how i feel about djing now. I don't hate djing tho! beatmatching can be fun. i am not trying to be a little bitch here(probably i am)
About my string obsession.
love the strings. love the overtones generated by the strings, love the tone of it, love how they look,. don't they look awesome? i should say i am obsessed with them. i am a strings freak... that's the main reason why i play in the symphony- to listen to strings rather than playing my primary instrument, french horn aka divine god's instrument.

in string arrangements, i was influenced by Barry White, Gene Page, Van McCoy a lot. in these days that music is thick on ground and treated as a dime a dozen, I personally think that Simon Hale's string arranging technique really stands out. of course those classical heroes like ravel, debussy, dvorak are the biggest influence of all.. i so will start writing the symphony from next year!
What I want to be.
i want to be a composer. i'd like to be a film composer. i'd like to finish at least 5 symphonies before i rot to the ground. i want to establish myself working in the music industry. i wanna be a band director. i wanna be a conductor. I'd like to be financially stable, so i can invite my family over to the states, live happily ever after... have your dream big. :)
