Ikoh Garden Education Day

We hadf another great field trip for the kids at Ikoh garden last week. They learned a lot about planting bananas and clearing weeds and propagating sugercanne. They all loved the sweet taste of sugercane and some kids even took plant starts home! We also sent them home with a bunhc of bananas and plan to do a follow up classroom activity. It was another great day!

You have'nt seen cute until you've seen Azdin! He is the most adorable kitten eva! some kids found him on the side of the road and I ended up being the lucky girl suckered into adopting him by those amazing blue eyes! hmmm, I could get lost in them. He was too young to be away from his mom so I fed him kitten formula and stayed with him 24/7/ He went everywhere with me! to the beach, up into diamond head crater (a hike), into town for icecream, even to the movies! I have had him for only 2.5 weeks and he is already litter trained and eating hard food! I cant believe how smart he is! I think he is part simese since he has tan stripes on his tail and points on his ears and with those blue eyes...wowsa, I am in Love! Ive got it bad, all I think about is Azdin, Azdin, Azdin. gotta love him, he is just too adorable!

Flowers and sea life

Hanauma Bay:
hanauma Bay is beautiful! It was formed by lava into a crater shape that protects all kinds of coral and sea life and provides a gentle area for snorkeling. I went snorkeling and saw all kinds fish but the highlight occured when I was walking out of the crater. I looked down adn saw a bunch of sea turtles swimming. Now I cant wait to go back so I can try to swim with the sea turtles!



Botanical Garden:
Plumeria Flowers are my favorite Hawaiin flower. they grow on trees. at one of the botanical gardens there is a whole grove of all kinds of plumeria. It was a pleasant walk plus we got to see cool cati and palm trees.

We went to see all the little fishies today. It was really cool. expecially the jellyfish. The way they glow and move in slowmo! Out of this world.

Whale watching

This is a pic of the whale I didnt see today:) I had so much fun today doing the typical tourist thing on a whale watching cruise. I didnt get to see any whales but I did get to make my own orchid flower crown lei ( something I have been wishing to have long before I arrived on the Island) and I learned a hula dance and perfomed in front of a bunch of strangers :) always fun. and just laughed and laughed about all kinds of silly things. So nice to see the sun! and I have a new very special friend that I will be introducing later. Just a hint... I have him in the palm of my hand:) cheerio

Ikoh Garden CSA

For those that dont know: Ikoh Garden is doing CSA boxes of fresh garden greens and reds and yellows and..... CSA stands for community supported agriculture. How it works is you pay 20 a week by monthly subcription for a huge box of all kinds of deliciose healthy goodness from our garden. Charging Cocks

We have a very fiesty cock on Ikoh. He has taken it upon himself to attack me on sight. We have had some very amusing face offs with the rooster usually getting the upperhand. I never thought I would find myself running as fast as I could down a garden path in Hawaii with a rooster chasing me at full speed. He also likes to hide and jump to the attack when I least expect it or run at me from behind and throw his whoel body into my legs. Life sure can be crazy when roosters decide to attack humans!

Valentines day

I had such a great valentines day! I decided that since I didnt have a specific valenitne I would make all my friends my valentine so i designed a digital card and sent it out into the world. I really enjoyed it since it reminded of how we used to hand out cards to everyone back in grade school. What fun loving everyone instead ofg just one! then I spent some very quality time with Debbie Day and Allen and ate a great dinner. It was so nice. Had hope you all had such a wonderful time too :)

Surfing Rocks!

Just learned to surf over on the north shore! Now I know why people love it so much. great fun!

epic journey

spent 8 hrs hiking in the rain until well after dark. Walked in the clouds, saw double rainbows. got drenched! A great adventure.
