I believe pregnancy and birth are normal, natural and healthy events. The female body was designed to give birth.

I believe that each baby is a unique individual who comes to this world with a profound connection to their mothers and fathers which should be nurtured. I strive to facilitate and foster bonding to allow this connection to grow and flourish.

I believe we have been taught to fear birth and not trust in our bodies abilities. Fear of birth is instilled in us from a very young age, and is seen in movies, TV and comes from "helpful" family stories of a woman being rescued in her birth to save her from pain.

I understand that the unexpected can sometimes occur, and believe that you have the right to remain informed and be a part of the decision-making process..

I believe that while the outcome of your birth can be unpredictable, the care you receive during your birth should never be.

I believe this is a time to celebrate, and I look forward to supporting your celebration...
