about me

I am a very simple and extremely complex person, who gets bored easy. So I seek variety, spice and adventure. I strive to appreciate all things, and see the positive in every situation. I'm hard on myself and still learning to have patience. I look for, enjoy and create beauty where ever I go. Dance, drums and sports help extinguish my anger. I love expressing myself thru art and what I wear. There are way too many clothes in my closet. I usually feel more comfortable around animals and nature than people. Whenever I feel bad I like to put my body in some spring or ocean water. I worship the elements! Okay now the bio for all the professionals.........

Dancing with fire for more than 10 years, the embers of Sage’s flames are kept in the sacred realm of her heart, released as an ancient dance for the healing of all. Through years of travel, the sprit of fire has helped her find her own truths - and the inspiration to ignite the imagination and passion of others. Over the years Sage has not only master her way around fire, but also experiments with innovative tools (glow props, wings) to push the boundaries of modern dance performance.

Performing with groups such as Sangré Del Sol, End of the World Circus, Perry Ferrell, Reverend Horton Heat, Kanál, Mundi Ensemble, Tantien, Lanaya, and El Circo, Sage loves dancing to all styles of music ranging from electronic trance, tribal drums, industrial, and heavy metal to worldly gypsy, Celtic, Latin and classical. She has also performed during private shows requested by Cirque de Soleil, members of Tool, and studio executives for the production of Ms. Congeniality. With the styles of African, hip-hop, and belly dancing in her background, fire toys and props only enhance the sensual sway of her movements as she breathes, eats, and transfers the flames. Among her self designed arsenal of toys, one might find poi, staffs, double batons, fire fingers, fans, crowns, horns, wings, fire bowl, fire sword, veil, brassieres, jump ropes, hula hoops, whips, masks, jack-n-the-boxes, stilts and candles. Aside from props, Sage also assumes many character roles within her performance.

After blazing her trail throughout Mexico, Peru, and the US, Sage took her travels to New Zealand where she entered an international poi contests. Upon winning this contest the director was so touched by her entry that he invited her to film an interview and feature more of her fire dancing on a video, which can be obtained through the Home of Poi web site. This quickly gained her world recognition and the respect of many other fire dancers. Currently Sage has been applying her skills in directing, producing and choreographing shows for Sangré Del Sol, which consists of a live band and all original music written for their lovely fire dancers and stilt walkers. She also keeps herself very busy with her many students, who want to learn the exciting skill of fire dancing.

As the fire of her past sparks the flames of her future, Sage continues her self-discovery through working in-group settings to produce and expand the world of fantasy and imagination. With the integration of live music, visual projections, costumes, make-up, and props, her characters come alive as a spirit to heal and inspire others around the world
