"Age is chronological.
Young is an attitude."
I met several silver-haired youngsters at Transformus 2009, and was reminded that attitude is everything.

"Fitness is measured in decades, not pounds."
Some young hunks at the gym did incredible bench-presses recently. After their endless self-adulation, I went over and congratulated them, but also encouraged them to never stop exercising. Then they watched as I went and quietly high-fived an old geezer barely curling 5lbs in a dark corner of the gym.

"No more sit-down hobbies"
Find fun things to do standing or moving. If you must do desk work, get a stand-up desk.

- Stay healthy
- Do your own repairs on cars, house, and appliances

Heard on an audio book while driving from NC to NV, August 2008:
It is the function of a man to yield to his desires.
It is the duty of a gentleman to satisfy his lady's.

Song of the Season
Composed by Sag on a beautiful Spring morning while biking to work
In anticipation of National Bike To Work Week 2008
Oh the weather outside's delightful
And your belly's looking frightful
Gas prices have gone berserk
Bike to work, bike to work, bike to work
Though your single-speed cruiser's rusty
and its seat is hard and lumpy
pump the tires and grease the zerks
bike to work, bike to work, bike to work
You will learn to like dodging cars
'til one knocks you onto your arse
But then this will convince your spouse
You need a new bike, not a house
All the trees and plants are blooming
The pollen's like yellow snowing
Rub your eyes, blow your nose, and smirk
bike to work, bike to work, bike to work
