</a>
										<div>So many emotions running through my brain last night as I was coming home from the last day of workshops for SFCCo! When you help put together an event, (this was my first time) you run on constant adrenaline for months and then when it's over you feel this sort of pit in your stomach that corresponds with a slight feeling of depression that it's over, but at the same time are happy that all the hard work paid off! It's just weird.............All that aside, it was a fun filled weekend of laughing, (thanks Laylia, that woman is hysterical!), dancing, working and all around craziness!
I wanted to thank all the dancers! The Hafla at the Mercury Cafe was a great success! I must say there were some floor issues for some (especially me!) and some music challenges but all in all it was a great show and I am hoping everyone had a great time. Being my first event to organize, it was a little stressful, but when it was over..................I felt great!

The hafla dancers were fantastic~

Sapphire, of Silverthorne
Che'Rippenger, the dancing cartoonist of Denver
Novos Bailarinas De Barriga of Elizabeth
Indi'ah of Frisco
The Shourq Shimmers of Denver
Tovah of Denver
Maka Unii of Arvada/Westminster
Mirage of Denver
Darbouka Divas of Littleton/Denver
Heather (Duende) of Denver
Xahir of Colorado Springs
and of course Raqs Sayyal of Littleton/Denver .......I love ya Naia~

I am confident that all the patrons, contributors, friends, and family enjoyed our diverse and colorful show!
And a big smooch to you Shelly Doss of Uneekreations! Our official hafla photographer! You rak girl!!
Thank you again, ladies and gentleman for coming out sharing your talents with the locals!

I ended up taking on the role of Mistress of Ceremonies for the SFCCo dance concert on Sat night! Not something I would normally think myself cut out for but, this last few months has really made me learn that stuff happens and you just have to roll with it! I also wanted to thank this group of dancers for rolling with me as I announced each troupe or soloist to the stage!

Kara Nomadica~They worked their usual musical magik, loved it! (I still need my Cd Sir Torin!) *giggle*
Marjorie and Mirage and their amazing "bellyhop style"...so much fun to watch!
Natasha~beautiful improve cane piece accompanied by Kara Nomadica!
El Badree Belly Dance Troupe, directed by Coke
Morgania~with a smile that could light up the world!
Tribal Tique! The Whoo Hoosome Twosome! Really fun workshop too!! These two got it goin' on!
Rafi'ah~beautiful zill playing and improve piece accompanied by Kara Nomadica!
Selayma Anan of California~stunning sword piece accompanied by Kara Nomadica!
Sahara Silk Road dancers~under the direction of Natasha
Darhma~this woman is a pro all the way! Amazing veil and floor work!
Raks Benazir~Goddesses of the Sea, beautiful, dark and lovely~
The Sultry Embers, Phoenix and Suzara took us on a winged flight with their Isis wings duet!
And last, but most certainly not least is probably one of the funniest woman I have ever met!
Laylia of Ohio!
She brought down the house with her energy and serious dance skillz! She lights up a stage like no other! I have to say I have never seen layering like that, with that oh so smooth buttery goodeness (lick) that is Laylia!~She is a force to be reckoned with and has a fun way of teaching workshops! I learned a great deal from her and when I grow up in to a big girl dancer, I want to layer like Laylia! I got my work cut out for me, and lots of practice!
I also took my very first sword workshop with Selayma! I have never balanced a sharp pointy weapon on my head before! I have to say....I now love the sword! Again, she made it look easy and effortless, but I was having trouble keeping it on my head...........again........more practice! So I have set some new goals for myself after this weekend.....layering and sword skillz are top on my list!

A big thanks too to the Shimmy Committee!
Chrissy
Heather
Laylia
Lori
Phoenix
Tovah
Nice job Ladies!
And finally Selayma~for letting me be a part of this worthwhile event! I will miss you when you go back to Cali!

I must not forget my Paul (the hubby) and Ryan for steppin' up! Thanks guys!

My daughter Jen and Son in law Richard, for playin' door monitors at the Hafla! Muuuuuaaaaaahhhhhh!

To all that blessed up with their talents, GRACIAS!

    </a>
										<div>I spent a good part of the day at the Boulder Creek Festival yesterday and all of my time at the Community dance stage. (Shocking, I know) I saw some amazing dancers from the Boulder area. I have to say my favorite was Bollywood West under the direction of Renu Kansal! They absolutely stole the show! The music was heart pumping fun, and the performance was full of power, grace, and style! These ladies really had it goin' on... I found my self raising the roof to 'Om Shanti Om' and wanting to get up and dance. You may think I am biased due to the fact I take classes with Renu on a weekly basis, however, watching her and her troupe pull it all together was inspiring! Amazing job ladies!!! Check out Bollywood West on the web at www.bollywoodwest.com!

    </a>
										<div>I am not sure how to even start here, except, a HUGE thanks to Phoenix, Yallah, and Tribe Marrakech and of course our fabulous MC Ocean! What an amazing evening! I know my fellow vamps, Naia, Laura, Che', Kendra and of course The Countess Rafi'ah had fun performing "An Evening in Transylvania" as well as soaking up all the talent and spookyness of all the perfomances. We are all so blessed as dancers to participate in an event like this. There is so much creativity in this community (it was ooooozing all over the place) and we all embraced it with all our hearts and dancing gooley souls! Each and every performance was unique and full of creativity, adventure, and the costumes~Extroidinary! What fun, I do hope this will become a Halloween tradition here in Colorado, (hint, hint, cheshire cat grin!)

As for the work shops, too much fun! Elizabeth's Ghoolie Combos was great and my very first Tribal class, and hopefull not my last! We learned all kinds of fun, spooking moves, saw some familiar faces, met some new ones, Thank you Elizabeth and Tribe Marakesh!

Phoenix, what can I say! You are awesome! Your Slow and Slinky was indeed that! I actually think I slithered right out of Paprika! (I think your southern prounounciation is just perfect!)

Thank you all for your hard work in putting together this event! You all must be Exausted! Get some well deserved rest. </div>
