about me
Hellos to everyone.
I am in my last semester working on some prerequisite's so as to begin my studies in Holistic/Naturopathic medicine and Midwifery in Feb 09.
I am not Christian and have never truly been such. However, I am not not-Christian because of non-Feminism or Patriarch-esk society that they seem to embody, but for their seeming fervent hold on hatred and death. though saying such could cause me to be misunderstood as I recognize both of my poles and as such have hate and love with in me. For I do not believe that I am capable of one without the other.
I have therefore called my spiritual/life path Pagan since I learned the term at 14. Having the term simplified my explanation of self
that was so often requested by naive grandparents, aunts, and uncles, who all have adopted and hold to their belief in another not so old faith that now claims millions of members worldwide.
I have however always had an affinity to the poles--God and Goddess. And in that belief, that within each of us lies both poles though our individual placement on the line between them will pull us to associate and connect to one stronger than the other. Moreover, some people, as we are all unique, will fluctuate their position, thereby being closer to one pole one day/week/year than say someone who does not fluctuate.
These ideas have been influenced and changed by many sources, I evolve as everyone does. So through study I have found that my ideas have streamlined and simply began to take on a stronger ability to be expressed verbally.
If my path in life had a motto it would be, “Thou art God, I am God, all who Grok is God.” -Robert A. Heinlein, Stranger in a Strange Land
"...I'm not too sure this planet is home. Do you ever have the feeling you're a tourist on earth? You'll be walking down the street and suddenly it's like a moving postcard around you? -- Here's how the people live here, in big house-shaped boxes to keep out 'rain' and 'snow,' holes cut in the sides so they can see out. They move around in smaller boxes, painted different colors, with wheels on the corners. They need this box-culture because each person thinks of herself and himself as locked in a box called a 'body,' arms and legs, fingers to move pencils and tools, languages because they've forgotten how to communicate, eyes because they've forgotten how to see. odd little planet. Wish your were here. Home soon. -- has that ever happened to you?"
-Richard Bach, The Bridge Across Forever
It is dangerous to be right when the government is wrong.
-Voltaire
"Happiness is always a by-product. It is probably a matter of temperament, and for anything I know it may be glandular. But it is not something that can be demanded from life, and if you are not happy you had better stop worrying about it and see what treasures you can pluck from your own brand of unhappiness."
-Robertson Davies
Usually, terrible things that are done with the excuse that progress requires them are not really progress at all, but just terrible things.
-Russell Baker
We hang the petty thieves and appoint the great ones to public office.
-Aesop
The supreme irony of life is that hardly anyone gets out of it alive.
- Robert A. Heinlein
