Not off to burning man

but i'll hang out here, in the relative quiet of Tribe.

i'd really love to see what happens to the Tribe posting and traffic stats during Burning Man :)

stoopid fuel leak

i wasn't paying attention and diesel leaked all over my engine, eroded the stoopid engine mounts.

should have been using 100% veggie oil.
have been using diesel often because it's been easier.
semi-instant karma.

the fuel also eroded a (recently replaced) steering control arm and several bushings.

the whole thing was caused by a leaking fuel primer pump.
though the leaking power steering pump didn't help.

sigh.

it's in the shop, and going to cost about $2200 to have fixed.

anyone need any website hosting?
email or domain services?
site design? web application development? :)

UCLA grad student looking for a new home. Do you have one that might fit? :)

Hi folks,

title pretty much says it all. i'm a 2nd year grad student at UCLA, looking for a place to move to in June sometime. i'd like to say within a half-dozen miles of UCLA. ideally that would be somewhere in Weswood, Brentwood, Culver City, Mar Vista, Palms, Santa Monica, Venice, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, etc. i am hoping to pay around $750 a month.

some salient details about me: i'm 36, don't smoke, don't drink or party that much (although don't mind it around), i'm reasonably clean and i'm a pretty laid back guy when it comes to being a roommate. e.g. i know how to respect roommate boundaries, while at the same time contributing to a nice community house vibe.

oh, and perk of living with me is i'll occasionally experiment with unusual dishes and ask you to try them. usually desserts :)

i am looking for a private room, but don't mind living with pets or children. also, i couldn't care less if my housemates are men, women, straight, gay, etc., and i respect all faiths and personal lifestyles.

so - drop me a line with any questions or to tell me that you think i look cool and we should hang out and see if there is a "fit" (why do i feel like i'm writing a personals ad? :)

cheers,
andrew

i NEED one of these

Clocky is a clock for people who have trouble getting out of bed. When the snooze bar is pressed, Clocky rolls off the table and finds a hiding spot, a new one every day.
