Sam is a powerhouse of creativity. She's got moves up both sleeves. She's got more apparel ideas than all the seasons of Project Runway combined. She's got props too, and she knows how to use them. If only I could open my parasol without busting it at the seams. Ahh . . . my only complaint is that she lives too far away.

Sam is one of the most phenominal dancers I have ever had the pleasure of watching perform. I do photography & have had the pleasure of shooting (haha) Sam. She is one person who I trust & admire!

Update to my previous testimonal:
It's been a year & a half of creative bliss with Ms. Samara as we've created and nurtured the Bijou Project. I feel very fortunate to have shared this time w/ Sam & to have experienced the dance magic she seems to bestow on those open receiving it. If not for her, my passion for dance could have slipped away, withering like an unused muscle. I give her credit for helping to heal my dance wounds, recasting my doubts as hope and inspiration, and instilling a certain strength, clarity of purpose, and confidence that is carrying me into a new stage in my dance life. Is there a greater gift one dancer can give another? I'll miss Samara tons, but I also know that she is still a part of who I am when I dance, especially when I'm solo! See you when you make it back to the NW, unless we get crazy & meet up in La. or something! ;o) November 27, 2005
Sam is such an awesome instructor. She has the patience of Job and always is so encouraging.
What I love about Sam is the fact that her passion shows through in her teaching. If you are willing to learn,...she is willing to teach. Her dance (art) is hers labor of love. Thank you Sam...you are appreciated by all who dance and all who will dance in the future. PS I hope this isn't too cornball, but....how can it be?...it's true! Swivel Hips.... September 30, 2005

I like big butts and I cannot lie. You other brothers can't deny, that when a girl walks in with an itty bitty waist and a round thing in your face you get sprung.

It’s hard for me to conceive that Rayni is gone from the form that I carried on my hip and swung in my arms. She was light and wispy, but heavy with fear of the unknown. Her body rioted against her in the cruelest of ways. I imagined what Deb must have gone through, endless times, holding the frail frame of this little sapling as it writhed and twisted under the will of erratic neural patterns-- which even highly trained specialists were unable to comprehend.

I am about to embark on my first year of fulltime teaching in the public schools. It has taken me awhile to accept that I have actually been offer such a huge responsibility—and more so, that these well educated people have faith in my abilities based on a few days of subbing and a string of college transcripts spanning the state.

There is a phenomenon in the human body that occurs in the rarest of situations. With some consistency the epiglottis will fail in its missions to seal off the wind pipe, in these cases fluid or food begins the journey into what is commonly referred to as “the wrong pipe”. However, on rare occasion, the article in question does a U turn and exits the body through one of the two orifices in the upper hemisphere causing something that moves beyond the typical Lorenzo spasm and into a far more...

Throughout the miriad cultures across the Earth, both men and women alike are subject to customary coming of age rituals. While I have considered myself a woman for at least a few years now—I only recently decided to make this transition official by attending my first Pampered Chef party.

My first complaint is with the title that such events boast. Let it be known, these are not actual parties. There is no celebrating. There was cake, and other food, and a clear distinguishable theme. ... read more
Alabama is home to a wide variety of wild creatures. One of which is the feral swine. Until recently I had assumed this mammal resided in the forests and less developed regions of the south and southeastern portions of the country. Last weekend I found myself to be mistaken as I discovered that one of these piggish animals was, in fact, a resident of my small, but well established suburb.

I have spent two weeks living amongst these strange and squatty creatures—remnants of another time, or world long gone. For the first few days I found myself confused and somewhat alarmed by their unusual habits. They seemed to endlessly push their snouts into the earth, with little or no objective. Their unreasonably squatty legs gave them an intimidating, low riderish air.
