Drop of Water

This is one of the best run on sentences I've ever come across but also one of the most poignant pieces of prose to pass my way.


"There's a drop of water on the wall,
and the drop's about to fall,
it falls into a trickle, and the trickles running down
On down to the ground,
and the moss begins to grow,
watch, watch, watch that water flow,
and watch the current become a stream,
busting at the seams,
cracking through the concrete and bending down that steel,
with a raging that is real, a tearing torrent you can feel,
feel that thunder growing thunder underground,
and in my heart, the chians falling apart,
and the wildness in my soul,
and for once in life, yes once in life I know,
I'm not alone, for the mountian's make our bones,
and the ocean's in our blood,
our feet are planted, planted firmly in the mud,
we are alive with burning embers in our eyes,
the tingling touch upon our skin,
and within the heat of passion we begin,
to understand that we are of this land,
that we are part of earth,
and when she's threatened we will fight for all we're worth,
we'll watch the dams come crashing down,
water rushing to the sea,
and now the rivers, the rivers are free."
