Riven's Rants
Tornado Warning
Wed, May 14, 2008 - 6:51 PMSo I drove home in hail the size of dimes...my first time actually driving in hail, by the way. I think I can't wait to leave Texas now. Between hail and tornadoes, I'm ready to go back to tame old snow! Even Nor'Easters were nothing in comparison to this chaos!
And just to make me feel better, my face is starting to break out and get oily again. It seems like I can never wash my face enough! Well, maybe if I washed my face ten times a day, but then it would be getting dry instead. I really hate it. I didn't have these problems quite so bad before I moved to Texas.
Dance class tonight was okay. I don't feel like I got anything productive done. I would have liked more of a workout, but what can you do? I'm wondering if this class is going to be taxing enough for me. I need something that's going to be physically challenging. We'll see what happens from there. At least I like the instructor. That's a good part, right?
But I could really do without these Texas storms. The fall last night from the damn dogs getting the floor soaked, Wendigo in specific, and now more storming, I swear, I'm never going to sleep again! Normally I just sleep right through storms, but with the nose ring, my nose is still sensitive enough that if I pull the covers over my head it rests on the nose ring, and that's just not comfortable. I know, I could lay on the other side, but then all the mucus drains to the pierced side (pleasant picture, huh?) and I don't want that either. I hate allergies.
So, yeah, I hate to make someone drive out in this weather, but I think it's pizza for tonight. I'm just not feeling up to cooking and Caelan...well...we're not going to get into the mood he's in. I think it'll be okay...just this once...

Yeah, I hate storms too! But since I grew up in "tornado alley" I guess I'm kind of used to them. My in-laws live in Greensburg, KS, the town that got wiped out by that huge tornado last summer, I'll have to show you the pictures sometime...or maybe not...they might freak you out.
I'm glad you all made it back home okay. |
