ARGH! Maybe protesting can be my new hobby now that the bar examination is over? I wonder if there are any lobbying groups dedicted to ending the sale of shark fins in CA......

Well, I use to eat shark. Sorry. But I always wondered what they did with the fins. I don't eat any fish any more. Not even shrimp.
I think it is a point of ignorance.........and culture. Unfortunately, many cultures think of animals as having no souls and being less than humans. It's pretty sad. |

For myself it is less about eating the body of the shark, but the actual harvesting of FINS. Most of the time, the shark is caught, it's fins cut off and then remainder of the living shark thrown back into the sea, still living, to sink to the bottom and die - unable to swim, stripped of its dignity. As a meat-eater and a former vegetarian (11 years), I am very aware of meat, its source, etc. I avoid inhumane meats and fish generally and tend to eat things that don't exploit natural resources, involve cruelty, etc.
