</a>
										<div>It has been a bit of a busy couple of weeks between the clients that I have, staff being out of the office, etc. There is just work enough for 15 hours each day, and just not the gumption or energy to do it all. Yes, I love my job. I can’t imagine how I did anything else previously – but it is hard. It is just the nature of the work. Pro bono, domestic violence, almost all my clients are monolingual Spanish – it’s hard. No, I don’t want a pity party – but man! I’ve felt its effects lately.

So, I've been in desperate need of a laugh. Yeah, Mark is good for some laughs, but I mean some serious laughs. And what made me realize this is that I was driving to my job after having dropped Mark at his (Yahoo - we carpool!) when this truck pulled up along side of my car. I look over at the drivers, two males. Then my eyes check out the company name – “R&amp;S Erection”. And then there is the word “Repair”. While not really THAT funny, I started to chuckle. And I chuckled some more. And, with the “Erection Repair” truck in mind, I drove to work smiling.

So – tell me your jokes (or cut and paste some good ones). And make ‘em good ones!

(Photograph is not my own – it was found by doing a google search)

										<div>I am sitting here, almost 5 pm. Eating some cherries and ending my day. Looking forward to heading home, relaxing with my husband and doing some asylum case work leisurely on the back deck. Does it get any better than this? Too all my pals whose days aren't quite so great - your cherries will be waiting on my back porch. :) </div>

    </a>
										<div>I think it is fair to say that I am not a friend hoarder, but I do try to be in touch with the people on my friends list and hope that they are in touch with me - through photos, blogs or what not. Not that it has to be a constant "chatter" but that I know you still log on and might actually be interested in being friends, etc.

In that vein, I am doing some spring cleaning. So if you are still out there, somewhat tuned in, please say something. Otherwise I will probably be trimming my list down to a smaller, more active size over the next few weeks. Thanks for your understanding!

Chicken Meatballs?!

    </a>
										<div>First and foremost - an apology to my vegetarian friends but this blog is about meat. With that out of the way .........

For about 2 months now, maybe slightly less, I have cut out red meat (beef, lamb, pork, etc). Pretty much I am living on chicken, fish and tofu products with the intention of eventually weeding out everything but fish and tofu.

But lately I have had the WORST craving for a meatball sub. It all started when Mark, his kids and I stopped at Subway for lunch while in the Florida Keys (I know, but they wanted Subway). They were advertising these delicious looking meatball marinara subs, and now I can't get them out of my head. Since I am not willing to go and eat beef for the sake of a sandwich, I am going to attempt to make meatballs with some ground chicken breast I got from Andronicos. So ......... any ideas? Recipes? Thoughts?

What are your favorite chicken, fish or tofu recipes? Hopefully, the more healthy ones :D

Thanks!</div>

Madness = Shark Fins

    </a>
										<div>I am so disturbed by the sale of shark fins in marketplaces. A trip to the gym today revealed a neighborhood Russian store selling shark fins for $0.99 per pound. MADNESS! I am so upset by this and simulataneously feel like there is so little that one person can do.... Shark finning is just BAD - I don't understand why people can't see that.

ARGH! Maybe protesting can be my new hobby now that the bar examination is over? I wonder if there are any lobbying groups dedicted to ending the sale of shark fins in CA......

The Dedication of Lawyers

<div>Everyone who has ever bought a house will enjoy this. A New Orleans lawyer sought an FHA loan for a client who lost his house in Hurricane Katrina and wanted to rebuild. He was told the loan would be granted if he could prove satisfactory title to the parcel of property being offered as collateral.

The title to the property dated back to 1803, which took the Lawyer three months to track down. After sending the information to the FHA, he received the following reply:
(Actual letter): "Upon review of your letter adjoining your client's loan application, we note that the request is supported by an Abstract of Title. While we compliment the able manner in which you have prepared and presented the application, we must point out that you have only cleared title to the proposed collateral property back to 1803. Before final approval can be accorded, it will be necessary
to clear the title back to its origin."

Annoyed, the lawyer responded as follows:
(Actual Letter): "Your letter regarding title in Case No. 189156 has been received. I note that you wish to have title extended further than the 194 years
covered by the present application. I was unaware that any educated person in this country, particularly those working in the property area, would not know that Louisiana was purchased, by the U.S., from
France in 1803, the year of origin identified in our application. For the edification of uninformed FHA bureaucrats, the title to the land prior to U.S. ownership was obtained from France, which had acquired it by Right of Conquest from Spain. The land came into the possession of Spain by Right of Discovery made in the year 1492 by a sea captain
named Christopher Columbus, who had been granted the privilege of seeking a new route to India by the Spanish monarch, Isabella. The good queen, Isabella, being a pious woman and almost as careful
about titles as the FHA, took the precaution of precuring the blessing of the Pope before she sold her jewels to finance Columbus' expedition. Now the Pope, as I sure you may know, is the emissary of Jesus
Christ, the Son of God, and God, it is commonly accepted, created this world. Therefore, I believe it is safe to presume that God also made that part of the world called Louisiana. God, therefore, would
be the owner of origin and His origins date back to before the beginning of time, the world as we know it AND the FHA. I hope you find God's original claim to be satisfactory. Now, may we have our damn loan?"

He got the loan.</div>

										<div>From the Ocean Action Team from the Monterey Bay Aquarium: "Californians Overwhelmingly Pass Prop 84
On Tuesday, Californians took a significant step toward the conservation of our ocean by passing Proposition 84, the Clean Water, Parks and Coastal Protection bond measure. Now hundreds of millions of dollars will be put toward the protection of California’s coastal resources – the wildlife, beaches and habitats that sustain healthy ecosystems. Once again, California is leading the nation in its commitment to ocean protection.

From all of us, a sincere thank you to you and our many other Ocean Action Team members who voted in favor of Proposition 84, and helped spread the word to friends and family. In the years to come, we’ll see the fruits of this victory in many new efforts that will help ensure a future with healthy oceans. Great work!"
