<div>epeolatry (ep-i-OL-uh-tree)

noun: The worship of words.

From Greek epos (word) + -latry (worship). The first citation of the word is from Oliver Wendell Holmes, in his 1860 book Professor at the Breakfast Table.

"I read my dictionary for a few more minutes, until tiredness eventually bought my epeolatry to an end for the day."

<div>Travel safe. Live the Dream. Transform. Evolve.

I will greatly miss the cracked earth and curving skies. The singing porta potties...the EL wire strewn cars that look like overgrown stuffed animals now coming to journey here and there, bounding across cyclist filled dirt-dust alleyway avenues, somehow, someway, all heading no where in particular...It's your chance to be a SUPERSTAR. Let it all hang out but please piss clear...

And then He burns.

And then our Temple, once again burned asunder, reminding us that nothing lasts forever, but that there's meaning in the most minute moments of Transformation whilst the Flames do a dance that remind us mortality, immortality, angels, demons, and the like have come to say hello while saying goodbye.

Sigh...

More than anything, I will miss all of YOU. </div>

Mendonesia this weekend!!

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/satsi/blog/7644b46c-8196-4ac2-b6ae-6128698cb4ec"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/90f/8ee/90f8eebc-73bc-4b0d-af9f-abb84771dc5c.thumb" width="58" height="78" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>Hey gang. I'm playing this here event and will be rocking the Sunday morning sunrise set, starting around 5:15am Sun morn. Check the website for directions and what not: http://www.acidtotem.net/mendonesia.htm

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Location: Acid Totem presents the first ever Mendonesia, happening at a beautiful location in the Mendocino National Forest. All responsible party people are welcome. The party location is a 3 hour drive from SF, Oakland, and Sacramento. Directions will be posted on this site the week of the party.

Getting there: Upon entering National Forest lands, you will traverse a steep hill climb for several miles on a paved road. Because temperatures can easily reach the upper 90s, a reliable vehicle is recommended. You will be required to drive approximately 8 miles on a dirt fire road. The fire road is well groomed and in good condition, but can be rather dusty. There is also a small creek crossing 1 mile from the campground (less than 6inches deep). So long you don't have a lowered rice rocket, getting to the location should not be a problem. The nearest gas station is at least 45 minutes from the party, be sure you have enough to get you there and back!

This is a Leave No Trace event: because this is a free event, we need your help packing out the trash. Everyone will be expected to pack out their own trash since there is no trash collection at the campground. Every car will be provided with a friendly note from your Acid Totem friends along with a trash bag.

Cost: Just gas to get the location, other than that, it's free! However, donations are greatly appreciated.

Weather: Expect highs in the 90s during the day, and into the 50s at night. There is plenty of shade in the campground to protect you from the sun.

Campsite Ammenities: Arrive early for prime camping spots. There are several fire rings and picnic tables scattered throughout the campground. There are two pit toilets onsite, so please don't shit in the woods! It is recommended that you bring a roll of toilet paper just in case. Aside from the pit toilets, the campsite is primitive, which means there is no running water or electricity. You will need to bring your own water, or you can extract water from the creek next to the campground with a water purifying system. The nearest gas and food are 45+ minutes away. Upper Lake will be your last chance for gas and food.

Extreme Fire Danger: It should not come as a surprise to anyone, but the entire Mendcino National Forest is in a state of extreme fire danger. Fires in fire rings are permitted, but there will be no poi, fire spinning, or any other type of pyro-activities permitted at this party. If you have a propane stove, grill,or heater, please keep it out site from any Forest Service employees. If you are a smoker, please discard all your butts into a trash can or bottle. If you see someone flick their butt on the ground, please give them a friendly reminder to discard their butts in the appropriate place.

Other Activities in the forest: Depending on how far you're willing to drive, there are a number of great outdoor activities available in the National Forest. Boating is available at Lake Pillsbury, swimming and fishing at places like Letts Lake and Eel River, ATV trails cover large portions of the forest near Middle Creek, Penny Pines, and Stonyford, there's miles of hiking and mountain bikings trails in the forest and adjacent Snow Mountain Wilderness (no mountain bikes in wilderness areas). </div>

<div>What a weekend. The party on Saturday night turned out to be just as fun as Friday, albeit a little quieter than the previous night. Big thanks to Big Mike for bringing his sound system and keeping it sounding great all weekend. It was great to see so many of my closest friends from my various different families all in one place. It doesn't get any better than that.

Many thanks to Rhadiante for sharing her home, property, and vision with us. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Big ups to Layla for busting ass all weekend and holding it all together. Also, big ups to Evan for working with me on putting the lineup together.

And to the dj's who came to play: you fooking rock! Everyone was so cool and fun to work with. Somehow, we stayed on time the entire weekend. How did that happen?? :)

Last but not least, thank you to everyone who volunteered and to those folks who came as patrons. This was our first time out doing this, and even though we had a few minor bumps in the road, everyone seemed like they had a great time. I know I certainly did. Thank you soooo much!</div>

<div>popinjay (POP-in-jay) noun

Somone who indulges in vain and empty chatter.

[Via French and Spanish from Arabic babbaga (parrot). The last syllable changed to jay because some thought the word referred to that bird instead of a parrot.]

"We Brits didn't really like the way in which Jose Mourinho introduced himself as the 'Special One' when he joined Chelsea as manager. Being a braggart is so un-British, don't you know -- even if you are gifted with a bit of flair. The 'Special One' ought to have been told we don't go in for flamboyance here. If we act the popinjay we can expect others to despise us behind their smiles."

<div>Hey gang. One of my songs was selected for this, so it would be great if y'all would come and give a cheer when my tune plays. It's all crowd reaction. Not sure when exactly...but this event is a good jumping off before heading to Adaptor down at Annie's Social Club (also on Folsom St at 5th St).

Peace!!

Test Press, San Francisco's Premier Dance
and Electronic Music Industry Networking Mixer

Thursday Evening, July 17, 2008 at Pyramind, 832 Folsom Street, San Francisco “Submit Your Tracks And Be Heard!” Test Press is FREE and Open to the Public

Test Press was founded in 2005 by the Electronic and Dance Music Committee of the San Francisco Chapter of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS), with the desire to bring DJs, musicians, performers, producers, and fans together in a networking mixer to introduce new music and talent.

Artists and producers alike get immediate access to the ears and feedback of Dance and Electronic music industry veterans and their peers, which results in an unrivaled opportunity to showcase their newest tracks and network with labels, press and distribution representatives. During the event, fans, attendees and industry professionals vote to determine the best tracks. Five finalists are selected from each event and will have their tracks voted on by the Test Press committee to determine the artists and tracks to be included on the next Test Press release on Epiphyte Records, scheduled for release in early 2009. (www.epiphyterecords.com) The 2006/2007 Test Press events received over 200 song entries and resulted in the 15 tracks that were selected for the Test Press SF 2007 compilation CD/DVD release, sponsored by Ableton (makers of Ableton Live - www.ableton.com) and Pyramind Production and Training (www.pyramind.com).

The artists/producers submitting a track for evaluation must be present at the event for the track to be critiqued by the panelists and considered for inclusion on the compilation CD/DVD release. All attendees participate by voting (via Applause O' Meter) for each track to determine the finalists. The finalists are selected by a combination of panelist votes and the attendee Applause-Meter response.

Submissions for the Test Press review panel can be sent via E-mail to here ---> [ www.epiphyterecords.com/TestPr...loader/ ] Details regarding Test Press can be found at www.epiphyterecords.com.

Track review panelists/judges for the July 17th event will include: DJ/Producer Forest Green of Cute Fang Records (www.myspace.com/forestgreen), DJ/Producer Homero Espinosa of Yerba Buena Discos (www.myspace.com/homeroespinosa), and Mike Addicott, aka: ADD1, dance collection manager for Pandora.com, as well as resident DJ for Remedy, The SF Giants, and The Oakland Warriors.

Guest DJ’s for the evening will feature past Test Press finalists: Professor Bang from The Body Mechanics (www.myspace.com/thebodymechanics), and Playdoughboy (www.myspace.com/playdoughboymusic).

Guest Presenter: Yukio King from Ableton (Makers of Ableton Live)

Gordon, recording artist Rashida Clendening (aka Audio Angel - www.rashida.net), Scott Quick (formerly of Thump Radio), Jeff Straw (INgrooves/Breakshop Studios), Patrick Hinds and Tyler Stone of Sutro (www.myspace.com/sutro), and new committee members Darcy Kearney (DJ DRC/Destra Music) and Chris Horgan (Pandora.com/Beatropolis).
