Natalia Paruz is reviving the old-time art of playing the musical saw and bells. She has performed with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Zubin Mehta, with the Westchester Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Air Moroccan Symphony Orchestra and at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall with PDQ Bach composer Peter Schickele and with the Little Orchestra Society.
Television appearances include Good Day New York, Good Morning America, The Vicki Lawrence Show, Fox After Breakfast, Oddville (MTV), The Andy Milonakis Show (MTV), Behind the Music (VH1), Tool Box (History Channel), Over The Edge (CBS) and others.
Radio performances include NPR's A Prairie Home Companion with Garrison Keillor, WBAI, XM Satellite Radio, WPKN, WOR and Voice of America as well as radio performances in the Middle East & Europe.
Ms. Paruz is the recipient of many awards including citations of honor from the New York City Council, the New York State Senate and a medal of honor from the Mayor of the Maisons-Alfort region in Paris, France, and was chosen by Time Out New York, the Village Voice, the New York Press and the New York Resident for their Best of New York lists.
Natalia was chosen to open the official Liberty Bell ceremony in Philadelphia when this American symbol was moved to its new home.
Ms. Paruz has recorded on Capitol Records, Universal Records and Atlantic Records with such artists as John Hiatt. Her musical saw can be heard on television commercials for such products as Volvo, Motorola and California cheese and she can be seen in the movie ‘Dummy’ with Oscar winning Adrian Brody.
