about me
Two Krimmels. Two Garzas. We're four friends.
Lovemakers to slang.
Disarming people with sarcastic wit, guised as innocence, lacking in both.
Previously, thieves in the night with honey lips...

Hello. We're Scissors For Lefty. Two Garza's. Two Krimmel's. We attempt to write songs in order to open or close little chapters of our lives. Documenting little adventures really. Flirting with disaster, reiterating current events, poking fun at love gone wrong. All excuses for us to just hang out. Fiscally irresponsible, or perhaps, we're simmering as investors. We've shared the stage with greats to us, such as Grandaddy, Little Wings, Black Heart Procession, I am Spoon Bender, Pedro The Lion, Inner, Rykarda Parasol, The Wildlife, and many, many more. I dunno, I think we've played about sixty shows by now. Like others in the slippery indie genre, we find ourselves performing fasties, pretties, pillow talkies, etc... Our hope is that you can come away from our shows either feeling a bit more naughty, or a bit more reflective.

San Luis Obispo is where we met, and now San Francisco is where we happily reside. We work our asses off, and burn the candle from all angles, in order to afford living in this contagious city. Some days the sun will spoil you rotten out at Dolores Park. Other days you might find yourself running for your life out of video store robbery.

A larger list of mp3's & quicktime vids can be found @ www.scissorsforlefty.com/download.htm If you don’t feel comfortable with downloading/such technology, don’t sweat a thang. Drop us a line, and we’ll figure it out together...

By the way, Scissors For Lefty has just finished recording a full-length album titled “Bruno”. This record was 100% produced/engineered in our living rooms, bedrooms, closets, etc...

Bryan Garza: Vocals, Guitar
Peter Krimmel: Keyboard, Guitar
James Krimmel: Bass, Drums
Robby Garza: Guitar, Bass

We've shared the stage with greats such as Grandaddy, Little Wings, Black Heart Procession, I am Spoon Bender, Pedro The Lion, Inner, Rykarda Parasol, Ebb & Flow, The Wildlife, and many, many more. My Blog

Well, nothing like a few well deserved days off. Bryan's going to Ohio to watch his baby brother kick butt in triathalon nationals. Peter's gonna perfect his softball swing. James is going to live it up at a few barbeques around the neighborhood. Robby? he's got a few roads he's been itching to drive his car down. We'll see everyone next week at Slims.

We've never played for 1200 people before. Let's put a comma, in there. 1,200, there we go, that should further emphasize that night. What fun. Mezzanine & DJ AM....thanks for having us!!!

What a stage that place has. Both shows we've played there, the sound has been spectacular. Plus, Travis is such a cool guy. G's, that guy is sincerely, a nice guy. Props to him, and his staff. Dressing rooms and free drinks didn't hurt either ;) At any rate, small and large shows have their merits. Sma... read more

News About Us

I just want to be really clear about something. Thursday night was a great night, but there are four words that I never thought I would post here. I. Drank. Too. Much. My office hosted a party starting at 4 and there was a lot of booze to go around. We did the whole gift exchange thing before I left. Then round two of my night took place at The Undercarriage. This was the second time The Undercarriage brought in a band. We asked Scissors For Lefty to come to the spa because they're on t

The post yesterday on my so-called "very long list" didn’t exactly seem to impress anyone. Probably because most bloggers are a whole lot better at organizing and preparing things, than I am. But to me 12 artists on a list are a lot, as I normally have no clue what I am going to write about in today’s post(s) when I wake up in the morning. So you could say that improvisation is the keyword for this blog, which probably explains its crappy quality? Time to trim down that list... The list wouldn

The beauty of going to see local bands in their hometown is that it often leads to unexpected and unusual gigs that really leave you walking away feeling like you saw something special. Tonight was one of those nights. The band started the night in fully costumed regalia, and managed to create a completely irreverent environment for the duration of the night. Apparently they had flown back especially for this show in honor of their manager's birthday, and were set to make the most of it. A few
