Scooter is one amazing person.
Theres not exactly just one word to describe him, but I will throw a few together... just so all those who have not yet gotten to know him... can. In knowing him for over a year now... I think I admire him each and every day. And cherish the friendship which continues to blossom. Now, he and I don't see eachother daily... but when we do... it's like no time has gone by. His hugs are the real deal. HE is the real deal. This man is one of the most wonderful, thoughtful, intellectual, loving and caring indivduals that no one can compare to. FIE ON ALL OF YOU. Scoots deserves more superlative words than can fit on a page. Ron is a genuinely kind human being who is fiercely loyal and caring, sometimes to a fault. I have a lot of friends that I have known much longer in this community, and yet when I had a rough moment at burning man I was able to turn to him and be completely vulnerable, knowing I could trust him to relate to me with no judgment and keep my confidence. Despite the newness of our friendship, I *knew* that about him, from both the energy he puts out and his own willingness to air his vulnerabilities and still walk around with his head held high. These are the qualities that get people through when they need it, and you have them. Thank you for being my friend, Ron. I am here for you and grateful for your friendship.

Scooter was my midwife into Burnerness. He was my playa greeter. At first, I wasn't one of those for whom the burn came naturally. I was freaked out when I first got to the playa. Scooter was the perfect greeter for me. He was calm, soothing, friendly, gentle and generally awesome.
A year & a half later, I've had the privilege of getting to know him much better, most recently when we went to Fuente together. He really rocks. Scooter is intelligent, well-spoken, loyal, and extremely helpful. He's gentle and he always tries to be really fair. He's a total Boy Scout with packing, organizing, arranging & making things happen. And in this community he continues to spread his wings and develop new skills and talents. So here they are. I was, um, intoxicated. And I'd never used that camera before. And ... um, waterproof cases are weird. Anyway, enjoy. I never seem to blog about anything other than pictures anymore. Hrm. Third gallery down at www.HotspurPhoto.net

There's this nice moment that happens when you have your camera at an event. Its when you're snapping, and look down at the monitor, and you realize, "Okay, no matter what happens, I have at least one kick-ass picture from this event." The above photo is when that happened. I took some other photos I really like, but it was snapping that one which made me know, right aw... read more 
Valentines day has never been my favorite holiday. I mean, let's face it ... if you're single, the fact that you're single is rubbed in your face. But it's not that much better if you're in a relationship, because - let's face it - even if you do something spectacular for your beloved, you don't really get full credit for it. It's not a spontaneous showering of affection, you kind of have to do it. It's that nasty expectations game ...

Other news. Well, first ... yeah, that web address. It's a new front end for my galleries. The old links all still work, but this should make it easier for people to find recent photos.
