At orFunner I had a revelation. For the first time in years I thought of a hobby I had in my early teen years - swinging chucks. I never dreamed I'd be doing it again because combat is totally not my thing...but then I realized that chucks could be set on fire...and unlike poi, I already had enough skill to jump right in with real fire (assuming this was like riding a bicycle).

I improvised some lighted practice chucks on the spot, and the memory was still in the muscle. Instant FUN! WhenI got home I bought some padded chucks for indoor practice, made my first fire chucks, and made a better pair of lighted chucks.

The very next Monday night practice at Marsha's, I was there and (with 2 spotters and wet sleeves for safety) lit 'em up and had a blast.
