about me
I'm 42 and well into my mid life crisis- turns out motorcycle riding and fire weren't what was decided by the great unknown. Instead I'm a new Mom of an incredibly adorable little baby girl! Very cool. Thanks, universe. Tess is the center of my existance and makes my life truly wonderful and exhausting. More about me when I'm not obsessing on the wee one.... Hmm....I am a voracious reader and get very excited when I have something great to read. So excited it's a bit embarrassing really. My living space is filled with sculpture I've created- I ran out of horizontal space so I've been making wall sculpture. I think ceiling sculpture is next. I am extremely silly at times and love exploring the absurdities in life.

Ah, the world that is Tess....curious little baby, filling into a huge personality. Baby kisses and hugs are the most wonderful things in the world. Strangely enough though one of her most frequent words is now no! whether her answer would be yes or no, the no comes out tenatively or strongly. Very strange. I don't say no to her all that often but it is such a powerful word. I must use it sparingly.

So Tess is almost 9 months, is crawling like mad, climbing up stairs, standing, and melting my heart on a daily basis. So this is why I'm alive, why I'm here, my purpose..........ahh, motherhood. I wish I were awake more so that I could be really aware of it all but it's spinning away from consciousness all too frequently. When did she start sitting up? I remember the moments, but not the dates. Ah well, I'd rather have moments any day!

Well, stopping working was necessary I guess but now I'm focused on waiting, which is very odd. Saw An American Movie- a Sundance winner very funny documentary that I can recommend. And am od-ing on ice cream........hmm......I know I will look back on this time and be envious of the time and quiet I have but right now I'm geared up to get into the labor mode. I expect practicing the zen/ meditative frame of mind would be useful now and during delivery. Sigh. Ommmmmmmmmm..........

Well, Little Tess is on her way into the world. Head down she's ready to greet the day or night. I'm at 1 cm which can mean a baby really soon or in a few days or a few weeks. I'm letting her know I'm ready for her whenever she is. We've settled in the new house and there is actually art on the walls. Her nursery is awaiting her. Life is very exciting!

Well, glucose intolerance has struck. So I'm pricking my finger 4x per day and trying to figure out what I can eat. Thank God for close and wonderful friends who are saving me from going over the edge. When you can't tell if what you are eating is hurting your unborn child every bite becomes pretty scary. I mean giving up alcohol, caffeine, etc was easy and pretty straightforward. Even giving up sprouts and feta was doable but this? But I'm finally getting some good info and am less freaked o...
