about me
My life goals are pretty much the same as everyone else’s: to laugh more than I cry, to look back at my life without any regrets, and to grow old with a circle of friends by my side. So far, I'm pretty much on target. :)

I currently work part-time in a homeless shelter. I fell into this job almost by accident, but love the environment. It’s quite social and the clients are always amusing. I work in the office behind the scenes, but do get to interact with our clients almost daily. It reinforces my appreciation for the luck I’ve had in life….from having fabulous friends and a very supportive family. Without these, I could easily have ended up in a similar situation.

The rest of my time is spent as a student. I’m working towards certificates in Fashion Design & Fashion Technology (which is just fancy talk for sewing.) I’ve been sewing most of my life and love collecting fabrics from around the world. Attending BurningMan for the first time in 2000 reawakened by desire to sew...and helped me get over my perfectionism. I have spent the subsequent years earning money by sewing costumes and one-of-a-kind articles for my friends for BurningMan. I’m working towards having my sewing support me year round.

I’m a rare Bay Area native that is re-falling in love with San Francisco. I recently sold my house in the Ingleside district (if you actually know where Ingleside is, you get bonus points) and now live on Uranus. (that will always be funny!). I can spend hours sitting on my deck looking over the city...it's always breathtaking.

I can't figure out why everyone in the Bay Area doesn't have FasTrak. I think it's the best thing out there. Last night I was coming home from the East Bay. There was a considerable back up at the toll plaza...although nothing compared to the morning commute i'm sure. Anyhoo....there were only a handful of cars zipping through the FasTrak only lanes. Even if you're only crossing a bridge once in awhile, FasTrak can save you time. If everyone had FasTrak we would all be zipping through the toll plaza. So go get yours!!!
