STOCKTON – Two armed men trying to rob a Stockton fast-food restaurant Wednesday were thwarted when restaurant workers simply ran out the back door.
The two men – one armed with a shotgun and the other armed with a black 9mm handgun –shortly after 9:30 p.m. Wednesday went into the KFC in the 100 block of East Charter Way.
While the robber armed with the handgun waited by the front door, the other jumped over the counter and demanded to know the location of the safe, according to a Stockton police report. Instead of telling him, the employees simply ran out the back door.
The robber with the shotgun followed the employees for a short distance, and then fled with the second robber south on Hunter Street.

Yes, it puts in mind Monty Python's Holy Grail does it not? The scene where they're "storming the castle" with the wooden rabbit ends in Arthur and his knights all running away, while calling "run away!" repeatedly. ;-)

I heard about this
It reminds me of years ago when I was working at a McDonald's. I actually let the robbers in the back door. I thought it was one of the employees, Paul, who just stepped out the back door. I thought it was him knocking to be let back in, so I opened the door, saw a guy wearing a handkerchief on his face and I laughed at him, saying. "Paul, you are such a jerk!" But....it was not Paul. (Paul was always pulling jokes on us all)
Poor guys only got $218 for all their trouble. It was an interesting night. Most criminals are not members of the Mensa society anyway. Gives us all something to laugh at. |

One of my favorite stories recently was told by Jay Leno, about a guy who robbed a store or some such, and sped away in his car. He figured he needed to swap cars to avoid police detection. So, he ditched his, broke into another car, and sped off, quite pleased with himself.
...except that it was the exact same make, model, and color as the car he ditched! He was promptly caught. |

Tim that's a good one! Let's switch cars to "go undercover" and pick the same blood looking car! Idiots....
It would be nice though if people would stop robbing people in Stockton because they think people would run away, it might make it a nicer place to visit.... |
