bdrm available coop/home J.P.

Room available in a beautiful 3 Bedroom Jamaica Plain coop/house Available March/April1st!

Rent is $525/month, First/Last/Half Security would be required to secure your spot.

The location is fantastic! Tower Street in Jamaica Plain is beautiful and quiet. Within a very short walking distance is the Forest Hills T stop on the Orange Line, the Forest Hills Cemetery, Arnold Arboretum, convenience stores and cafes. There is on-street parking available with a free sticker from The City of Boston.

The apartment is located on the second floor of a three family house. There are hardwood floors in most of the apartment (except for the bathroom). There is a little back porch that has a table for eating and hanging out with the squirrels. In addition to rent, we pay for electric, gas and Wi-Fi. We have coin-op laundry in the basement.

One of the real selling points is our awesome neighbors!! We have quite the little community of wonderful people here on Tower Street. If you are ever interested in hanging out, playing music, watching movies, doing yoga, going for walks in the cemetery, there's usually someone willing to join you at any given moment! The landlord is a cool guy and lives on the top floor and takes great care of the place. If something breaks, etc… you know it will be addressed immediately.
No Cats or dogs, but snakes or reptiles are alright.

As a dancer and musician I would love to host mini music/dance jams and maybe a yoga class at the house. So ideally someone without too much stuff! I'm looking for someone interested in participating in community cooking and shared chores, someone who communicates well and is generally laid back, someone who might be interested in (co)-hosting fun events at the house, and loves to keep a home filled with good energy...clean but not spotless!!

Let me know if you're interested or you have any additional questions!

Spirit cannot die

I was moved by these words today.....thought I'd share.

Like a potter we must
steady our hands

at the wheel, let clay
transform under pressure.

Patience is methodical,
an internal commitment

to movement
even when there is

no music.
Passivity has place
but patience is not the same face.

We wait, even when
We feel alone.

We are patient
Because time's

infallible tempo
determines the striking hour.

Sometimes it feels like
silence in the heavens,

seems the Powers
have left us behind.

But we are not lost
because we are not alone.

We may tire,
but will not perish.

There is life in our dance,
our courage to create.

We thrive for
Spirit cannot die.

We are the chain, the choice, and the child
We are the root and the reason
The are the horn and the healing
We are each others bread and hand that holds.

And we are not lost
Because we are not alone.
Our making is in our being.
We may tire but will not perish.
We thrive because Spirit cannot die.

Dancing last night

I had such a great time last night dancing with Sarah for Copal!
(of course I missed dancing with Denise, but soon we will all dance together again!)

Something about the night was so powerful for me.
I danced with my sword again for the first time in over a year. I love the balance and grace of the sword, it slows me down and allows me to breath completely in the moment.
Copal is sounding so amazing, I really like the live kit drum and second violin player. The music is filled with joy and mystery, I'm proud to be dancing with these lovelies!

Sarah and I set our intentions before leaving for the show, we wanted to dance our strength and balance, we wanted to support and lift each other up. I wanted to invite the audience into there own dance, and after we performed, tear down the fourth wall and join together in celebration with the audience.

I think we did just that, and that's part of why I feel so awesome this beautiful Sunday morning!
Yay dancing in community!
