Tribal Groove

What a beautiful event!
Thanks to everyone who made it happen.

Thanks for trying out new stuff like, Sufi circle dancing (so grateful that Firdousi came out from California to be with us)! Thanks for holding my son in love as his band played his first gig, they sound great for only playing together for a year (SkyBear is doing great work with them).

The chill room was super sweet again (Shawn and Denise are true masters of creating sacred space)...

Incus rocked, I love them unplugged, and I love the new song too!
And Jeff and Ammon wove their magic...They are true shaman's of the groove.
The visuals were awesome too, Thanks Chris!
I kinda wish the chill room and the main room where closer somehow...Spiderman suggested that we have a chill room DJ as well. That sounds good to me! What do you think?

It was amazing to look up and see Carl Bridge, what a surprise! And Alisa Starkweatherand Charlie had a weekend off and came to share the night with us, woohoo!

Next Tribal Groove is moved to May 13th Please save the date and try not to have any major parties at the same time :)
We'll send out official invites soon.
but here's a sneak preview...
K is teaching yoga
Shawn Starkweather, acoustic guitar

Steve and Eric's African Drum troupe (live)
and I'm not sure who DJing yet, but Psylab may play a set... it's really Steve's area to organize... but, who ever is playing... I'm sure it will be awesome.

We will then take a break until the fall, and pick it back up after festival season.

We did make a little money this time and tried to pay a little bit to everyone who made it happen. If anyone would like to see how the money is distributed please let me know... we want to be open about the finances.

Thanks again for such a beautiful gathering.
I am filled and overflowing!!

In Love,
Shakti

Shakti - thanks so much for shepherding this beautiful event with help from our wonderful community. I know John (Obi-John) was actually interested in doing a chill DJ thing, possibly with his tablas. It sounds like I should have him get in touch with Steve.

About the date -I don't know if it's ever possible to avoid all parties, but I know there is already one planned for May 13th which I was going to attend and am now conflicted about.

Holy moly, this is the only date the space is availble for May and April 29th is out because of Jason's Beltane party...who's party is the 13th... could we talk then into collaborating or shifting the date??? And Yes, John in the chill room perfect!

I loved Tribal Groove and had a fabulous time. Thank you so much Shakti and everyone who made this happen-all of us!

As far as a chill space DJ, one thing that I had difficulty with was that the music playing in the chill space was "beat" music..there was a time when I really needed to chill my head and couldn't escape the sound of beat music...for me, a chill space with more ambient music would be better. Especially for giving and receiving healing.

Yes, other party has been cancelled, probably rescheduled soon, so no worries on the date.

Shakti, I'll have John contact you directly. I know he's expressed intererest in doing something, but I'll leave it to you guys to determine what/if will work with the space/venue/vibe.

yes.. have the Dj spin ambient.. total hands on.. instead of a Cd player.. I think it sets an interaction..
