We are very pleased and excited to let you know Jef Stott (Six Degrees Records) will also be performing live with us, for those of you familiar with Som'ma and Jef's work, this will be a great treat!!! Jef's electronic wizardry will be a very nice addition to our evenings performance!!!

Please note we are expecting the evening to sell out!!! Make sure to get there early or stop by Ashkenaz one evening before the event to get your tickets directly... Unfortunately due to service costs associated with online ticketing and in order to increase the total proceeds & donations to HRW we are unable to offer this service for this event.

Local Bay Area Iranian musicians, activists and visual artists come together for an evening of Iranian national music and performance of freedom songs in solidarity with the Iranian people's freedom movement.

I am really excited about next weeks event & am really pleased to announce and introduce everyone to Priya Assal Gheysari who will also be joining us for the performance by reciting poetry...

Priya studied painting with Iranian surrealist master Taha Behbahani, who shared with her the gift of communicating spirituality and vision through art.

During the same period she became a student of ancient Persian literature and religion with her mentor Fereshteh. She always whispered in her ear that a masters personal expression must become universal, so that every person can relate to it and be moved by it. National Day of Protest to Stop US/Israel Genocide

START DATE: Saturday January 10
TIME: 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Location Details: Civic Center Plaza, Larkin and Grove Streets., San Francisco.

On Saturday, January 10th, the ANSWER Coalition is calling for nation wide protests against the atrocities and occupation perpetrated by the Israeli government in Gaza. The San Francisco protest is going to take place in Civic Center at 11am.

More then 700 people have died and thousands have been wounded in Israel's attacks on Gaza. 1.6 Million Gazans are living without access to basic services and face constant Israeli attacks in one of the most densely populated areas of the world. On January 8th, the UN accused Israel of targeting it's aid workers and says it is suspending its relief efforts. The ICRC as also accused Israel of restricting access to thousands of wounded civilians. Reports have suggested that Israel is using weapons such as white phosphorus that are a violation of international law. Gaza’s hospitals are not equipped to receive so many patients and Israel’s bombing of civilian infrastructure has cut electricity to everyone including hospitals.
