So, my partner and I have begun seeing someone. We both enjoy his company, his looks, the sex, just hangin out et cetera. I find myself with lots of questions that seem to go unanswered. Anyone care to chime in with experiences?Looks like I'm going to see my family for the first time in 11 years...
and I find myself very nervous...like losing sleep nervous. I depart Seattle on August 19 and come back from Philly August 26. Not really sure what I expect...I suppose I should keep my expectations low, but I can't help but be very excited for good things. :)Well, I brought my season to an end early....

Well, don't ever complain about not getting enough hours. All of a sudden...POOF! there they are. Put in 68 hours between Friday and Tuesday, should be a nice payweek. Hotel business has been picking up over the course of the last two week, so that's a good thing. Keeping my ass busy, for sure. 65 and sunny outside, a welcome departure from the weather at night.Speaking of the weather at night, I had a truly spiritual experience walking from Glacier Dorm back to my dorm. It was about 4am, crystal clear skies and very cold. The sun was just starting to come up and I saw Venus rising, and right behind it, Mercury, popping above the horizon and then dropping again. Very cool! Made me feel like a part of the universe.

Well, the weather has taken a turn for the better. *woo-hoo*It's in the 60's and sunny here at 5700'. Good stuff.
Death on Mt. Rainier, June 10th, 2008
Three hikers went missing...search commenced early this morning. Two were found alive, the third died from exposure. The entire hotel was pretty slow and somber this morning. Have the next two days off, and there's not much I can do given the two feet of snow that fell last night and this morning. Keeping my chin up, I'm completely over the shitty weather!June 7, 2008
19" of snow came down yesterday...got some crazy shots of snow drifts taller than me that all laid down over the last 24 hours. Good times. Work is coming along swimmingly, making a good impression with management....staying late, offering my help wherever it's needed. Kinda hard to keep staying so cheery with my sinuses all jacked up though...just gotta keep my water intake up and keep eating properly I guess. Keeping the alcohol intake to a minimum won't be much of a problem, since I don't have any and almost everyone up here doesn't have any either. *lol*Out of sight of, out of mind...eh?

Transmitting from 5700', DSL connection, while better than nothing, is aggravating at best. Still 20' or more of snow up here, although, 15' has melted in the last 20 days, so I can expect that alot of this will be gone by the middle of this month. Living in the dorms is a trip, reminds me of Barrow or being on a fishing boat, although there are quite a few women up here, which there never were at either of those previous destinations. People from all walks of life up here too! Folks from Malaysia, Thailand, mainland China, Taiwan...not to mention all over the US...MA, CO, TX, CA, OR and of course Washington. There's a whole contingent of folks who just finished up work at Denali National Park...and some others from the Grand Canyon. The social aspect of being in an environment like this...while not entirely surpising, weren't completely anticipated.Going on a hike below the snow level today...gonna do some bonding with some other employees. Should be good!
