Love story...

On July 28, 2005, I went to see North Mississippi Allstars with John Hiatt downtown. After the show, my roommate and I went to a little beerhaus called the Independent, and as I was walking out after getting a beer, she was just walking away from the boy she had introduced me to earlier at the show (they had met at Wanee Fest in Live Oak two months earlier). I saw that this boy was talking to the most beautiful man I had ever seen. I knew I had to know him and thought I already did. I asked his name and as soon as he told me it was Jaysin, I realized I had met him on myspace over a year ago, but never in person. From the very first night, I knew what it felt like to be in love. Delisciously, rapturously, dizzy in love. The second night, we went to see Buffalo Strange play on the beach, and he was using one of my hoops. When he told me he's only done it once before and I asked him when, I was pleased (but not completely surprised) to find out that it was with Lindsay at Wanee Fest WITH MY FIRST HOOP!!!! I let her borrow it because I couldn't make it up there. So two months before I met the man of my dreams, he's at a festival feeling my energy in the magnificent circle that changed my life. How's that for a hint from the perfect Universe? ;) Of course now, he's one of the best hoopers I know...

My Birthday!

Usually I'm not all that excited about my birthday, but this time I am. Of my two favorite local bands, one, Middle Rhythm Session, is playing a free show on my actual birthday, Wed 9/14, and the other Buffalo Strange, has invited me to perform their cd release party at Skipper's Smokehouse in Tampa on Fri 9/16. If I wasn't already excited enough about performing with them, it also just so happens that the drummer Jack is an electrician and he and my boyfriend managed to fix my PSIhoop which has been dysfunctional for about a month and a half, so now it can be an extra special performance. How awesome for my debut! And Middle Rhythm Session is always down to host an appearance by the Funkshine Hoopers. Speaking of Funkshine Hoopers, we all managed to be in the right place at the right time Sunday, and are now going to be on the local fox news Saturday Oct 15 @ 10am hooping at the drum circle. Add all this to sharing the first birthday ever with the man of my dreams, and how could I ask for a better special day?
