Dropping the Dance Name....

I need a dance name that starts with an S so I can sigh my emails *S like I normally do. I need it to not sound stripperish (the guys at work started jokingly calling me nasty Nastasia. AHHHHH). I also need it to fit me.
So for now, it's back to *Samantha....or *S...or Sam (if I like you). Haha.

Well, Samantha is a pretty name, so that could be your dance name. I'm thinking of that Boston favorite who uses her real name: SABRINA.
8) And, I like "Samantha", but, I don't like "Sam" - just my personal preference. |

Samantha is good, and you don't have to worry about answering to something else.

Thinkbabynames.com is a pretty nifty resource for researching names, their meanings and their various spellings. There are many pages of names beginning with S, possibly 30 or so to a page. I picked out a few for the fun of it: Sable = black; Santana = holy, Salena = the moon; Sage = wise, healthy.... oh, and your name (which I also think is very nice) means flower. : ) Hope you find this helpful! I think Samantha would work well--but I also have a real name that would work well and wanted a stage name anyway, so go with what you want :-)

I resisted taking a dance name for years. I have a name, thank you, it functions well, and years in the SCA left me with the firm opinion that I cannot take part in any hobby which requires me to be other than I am. I only took the dance name b/c I insist on internet pseudonymity for privacy and protection, and people seem to be uncomfortable calling me Frum.

I think you are definitely more of an S! Samantha would even be fine.
I was upset to find out that the Arabic language does not have a P (or a V). So I can't spell (or pronounce) my name in Arabic. I thought about picking a new name myself at that point! |

someone did mention Samia and it's true, I don't know any local Samias and it's similar to SAmantha. IF you did want to do that exotic dance name thing.
