Always... wandering at heart

The railroad track is miles away,
And the day is loud with voices speaking,
Yet there isn't a train goes by all day
But I hear its whistle shrieking.

All night there isn't a train goes by,
Though the night is still for sleep and dreaming,
But I see its cinders red on the sky,
And hear its engine steaming.

My heart is warm with friends I make,
And better friends I'll not be knowing;
Yet there isn't a train I'd rather take,
No matter where it's going.

-- Edna St. Vincent Millay

Me bubble

about me
Fey imp w/ fangs in form of cuddly curvy mermaid out of water. (The feedback confirms this). When back in the water, whether ocean, hotspring, stream or shower, I am at one w/ the world, third-eye awake & happy, smiling like a happy fool.. Feel the same way in creative flow; singing, making love- it's all eros. At home in various personas.
Not surprisingly, I'm a fiery Pisces: Pisces Sun & Mercury, Aries Venus, all in the 12th house. Sag Moon & Jupiter in the 8th, Aries rising. Mars in Gemini (hence the word-lust) Saturn in Cap at midheaven.

Life-long insomnia has led to a love for the nightime . Voracious reader. Have absorbed uncountable # of films. Write poetry in longhand & stick it on Word later. Getting back into creating, & working as a silkpainting artist, which was something I previously did for yrs. Love doing ritual theater & poetry performance, going to live theater & films. ADD isn't attention defict- it's attention difference- I loves me some tangents! Museums & libraries are nifty environments. They need more pillows, & later hours, but then, most places do. Tribal Jewitch. I once had the privilege of creating the part & embodying Lilith at one of our Witches Ball rituals- enormous fun & not that big a stretch. Singing is a great joy; often play music w/ friends. This being Eugene, there are endless cozy potlucks. I like the soft, partly cloudy days best...

4/09- So happy to be udating this... A couple of months ago, finally had the big scary surgery, & am now sporting a titanium bionic hip joint. Though it'll take awhile before healng is complete, little by little, I'm getting my life back... & damn am I fuckin' HAPPY!!!!!!! Yeeeehaaaawwww!!!! I'm off the crutches, using a cane but less & less so, & walking more, & further than I've been able to in a long, long time.

For years, I was increasingly sidelined by an old hip-joint injury (1st sustained when dancing like a hurricane) that threw my body seriously out of whack, increasingly causing chronic pain. No cartilage between bones does that... grind.
I'm doing physical therapy, & other healing stuff- healing this is a major focus for now... I can't wait to get back to dancing, traveling more, hiking, camping; being in the green wild places I love. For now, those passions have to wait... but they're always in front of me, keeping me going. I'm so grateful my world is expanding, & the pain is gone gone gone. And very soon... I'm headed for a flatter trail, out in woods & lined by waterfalls.

People Have the Power- by Patti Smith

I was dreaming in my dreaming
of an aspect bright and fair
and my sleeping it was broken
but my dream it lingered near
in the form of shining valleys
where the pure air recognized
and my senses newly opened
I awakened to the cry
that the people / have the power
to redeem / the work of fools
upon the meek / the graces shower
it's decreed / the people rule

The people have the power
The people have the power
The people have the power

For anyone who'd like a quick, clear, non-partisan, reputable place to check up on both serious political rhetoric & silly rumor-mongering :

Great anytime, but especially in a campaign year. I like their format of using a Kinsey-type scale- the "Truth-O-Meter. The absolute bullshit end of the scale is deemed "liar liar pants on fire." In spite of the giggle-inducing names, really, a very fairly done site that's been around for a few years. If you check out some of the... read more

OK, haven't been up for public blogging much lately- been favoring the ol' longhand leather journal again. But hey, it's a rainy Sunday, & I'll bite on these questions:

1. Are you taller than your best friend?
No. I'm not taller than many adults. I am, however, blessed w/ 2 good lovely friends shorter than I- Debby & Lisa.
2. Do you have a favorite type of pen?
Of course. No, you can't borrow it.

3. Have you ever worn the opposite sex's underwear?
Colorful boxers as shorts. They w... read more

... Won't be around much till I get back from visiting my Dad in S. FL for a couple of wks. Not leaving for several days, but I'm very busy till then... including a 4-hr rehearsal on Sun. w/ the womens' theater group I've recently joined.
I'll check in a little here & there, but won't have much computer access.

Thinking of more Dad activities...We can go to the pool at his clubhouse, go out to eat a few times. I'm taking him to a hearing specialist one afternoon. We can see "The Bucket... read more

This email from The National Resources Defense Council was in my inbox today... thought it would be nice to share this much-needed victory for sanity & compassion... because we need to hear the good stuff, too.

<<< Fantastic news! A federal court in California has just imposed
the strongest-ever protections for whales against an onslaught
of military sonar.

The new controls are the result of an NRDC lawsuit that demanded
the Navy rein in its deadly sonar before beginning two years o... read more
