INFORMATION WARFARE!!!

-- Robert Anton Wilson

INFORMATION WARFARE!!!

Right now, there are so many conflicting sources of information regarding the nature of reality that anybody who isn't thinking for themselves is probably losing their minds. Historically, wars have been fought over territory. Here in the Information Age, the human mind is the new turf and battle strategies are being designed at this very moment to destroy, maim, claim, and/or govern as many personal noggins as possible. So, my friends, hold on to your trick tophats... a human mind is a terrible thing to waste.

The new martial, info-disciplines will train INFO-Warriors to tolerate greater doses of uncertainty so as to minimize the immobilizing tendencies of settling down into Pat, Easy Answers. INFO-Assassins of the Mass Media, New Age, Old Age, and Middle Aged can now be seen everywhere spoonfeeding the soft, muddled-class minds with the Anti-Improvisational Sedatives of ANSWERS. Answers ought to carry the Surgeon General's WARNING:

ANSWERS may be hazardous to your Uncertainty.
Danger! ANSWERS carry High Overdose Potential.
Remember: ANSWERS are the Thrill That Kills.
JUST SAY NO (thank you) to ANSWERS.

The above is excerpted from "The Akashic Record Player", a book I wrote twenty years ago (now out of print). Some more excerpts have been posted online at: deoxy.org/geoman.htm

Information is surprise

Wouldn’t the upcoming Uranus oppose Saturn, last seen in the 60’s, mark an atmosphere quite conducive to that?

uranus/saturn opposition ? oh yeahhhh, bring it on. information is the unpredictability of a message and the big surprise could be the absence of presidential elections altogether if GWB goes to war with russia and enstates martial law here at home

Not sure if I'm reading you right, but I don't think that a relativist uncertainty is the best antidote to fundamentalist certainty. Uncertainty may not serve us well in, say, life-threatening situations. If the question is, "What am I going to do about this bear charging at me?," having an ANSWER might actually be a useful thing. What are we as a society going to do about global warming? Ditto. The key is to be constantly open to new information & willing to recalibrate our responses accordingly. If that's what you're saying, than I agree.

I also agree that we live in a time of information warfare. That's why I am dedicated to catalytic communications.

Just last night, I was feeling the discomfort, the confusion of that part of mass mind
that is coming to terms with the possibility of losing itself....

There are so many trapped in the middle.......

uncertainty, anxiety and escaping the known
Lansing, yeah that's what I'm saying. Uncertainty expresses an objective truth for me. And the more uncertainty I can permit, the more my senses are open and the more information I can perceive (and not merely assume) about that big hungry bear in the woods. Everyone has their own uncertainty threshold for how much uncertainty they can permit before anxiety sets in, anxiety being a natural nervous response to reaching and reaching beyond our limits. Anxiety is also an energy and worthy of self-management.

"It is essential that you have Knowledge. It is also essential that you escape the Known." -- J. Krishnamurti

omg that picture!
for one, that picture is totally frightening.

last night i was watching some of the 9/11 footage that was being aired non stop and i was shocked at how many people in the second tower (before it took the hit) were trying to get out but the authorities told them that their tower was fine and to go back to their workstations. i was absolutely shocked to see how many got back in the elevator and went back to work, probably most of them dies later as a result.

lesson there is think for yourself or die.
