<div>Dear Friends please help me by reposting this or sharing the link... together we can make a difference in the lives of theses kids!!!
xoxo

*******************************************************************************************************************************************************
As many of you know in July 2002, our world changed, as my youngest child Colby at age 9 was diagnosed with AML (high risk Leukemia). Colby spent the better part of the next six months in the hospital undergoing extensive chemotherapy treatment. Something no 9 year old child (or anyone for that matter) should have to endure.

We were blessed, and got to keep Colby and today Colby James Chapman is a wonderful, bright and vibrant 14 year old! Something I am eternally grateful for. Many are not so fortunate, Colby lost his best buddy, Jonnie Lanners in 2003 and recently another friend, Bailey McManus has relapsed and undergone a bone marrow transplant, in which she spent 9 month in the hospital, away from family and friends. My friend Melissa's dad (Jim Hehli) has also been diagnosed with Leukemia. My teammate’s husband Dr. Stroberg is surviving Lymphoma, and there are so many others, I wish I could mention them all.

So today, I'm here to do something about it and to help them WIN this battle - let them know that they are not alone.

I’ve decided to race for a cure, I am training to participate in the San Diego Rock n Roll marathon June 2008 as a member of The Leukemia &amp; Lymphoma Society's Team In Training program.

Please consider opening up your hearts and helping me along this journey. I'm doing it for the Colby's, the Bailey's, the Jonnie's, and the Jim's out there..........their memories - for their families and for mine! Make your a tax-deductible donation to support my participation in Team in Training and furthermore, help to advance the Leukemia &amp; Lymphoma Society's mission. I hope you'll visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. You may donate on line or check made out to Team in Training and send to Tracy Chapman 1006 Grandview Ave , Ojai , CA 93023 . Thanks for your support!

    </a>
										<div>I just received this wonderful email that went out to all the Leukemia &amp; Lymphoma Society Team in Training participants.... I thought it was worth sharing with all of you......

"The dedicated life is a life worth living. Find something to love with all of your heart. Discover what inspires your biggest dreams. Seek out a challenge that creates positive change, speaks of your purpose and makes a difference in the world. Throw yourself into something to believe in, that asks for your very best. We are here not only for ourselves, we are here to add to the sum of human goodness.

A good life is not lived by chance but by choice. We can be wise from goodness, and good from wisdom. Each person brings into this world a unique contribution, and each day comes full of possibilities. All we need is time and opportunity; there is no such thing as an unimportant day. Our possibilities live as we live, and each one of us can bring hope and beauty to the world. Go out and find where people hold their potential and meet them there. Be not only good for yourself, but the cause of goodness in others. Inspiration and contribution go hand-in-hand."

DO IT ANYWAY

										<div>
        People are often unreasonable, illogical,
        and self-centered;
        Forgive them anyway.

        If you are kind, People may accuse you
       of selfish, ulterior motives;
        Be kind anyway.

        If you are successful, you will win some
        false friends and some true enemies;
        Succeed anyway.

        If you are honest and frank,
        people may cheat you;
        Be honest and frank anyway.

        What you spend years building, someone
        could destroy overnight;
        Build anyway.

        If you find serenity and happiness,
        they may be jealous;
        Be happy anyway.

       The good you do today,
        people will often forget tomorrow;
        Do good anyway.

        Give the world the best you have,
        and it may never be enough;
        Give the world the best you've got anyway.

        You see, in the final analysis,
        it is between you and God;
        It was never between you and them anyway

    </a>
										<div>In the past I've mentioned the Bloodmobile Project that was started after Colby was hospitalized for AML in 2002. During his treatment, 157 people donated blood in his name at the local bloodbank in Ventura County. Not one pint went to CHLA... or Colby... (you had to drive to CHLA if you wanted Colby to get the blood or credit) the need to purchase a Bloodmobile for CHLA became a priority for this little town and my friend Jocelyn... who spend countless hours just getting them to agree to accept one......... WELL ...... after putting on 2 fundraisers in 2003 and 2004..... the project took on a mind of it's own and others became involved (thank goodness!!!!!) ....... so what started as Colby's project has grown....... and today I received this email...... I'm sitting here in tears..... I'm am so very happy......

Tracy,

How wonderful to hear from you. Where is my picture of Colby???

I have great news. We finally collected $200,000 plus for the Blood Mobile. We are still a little short for equipment, but had enough for the bus itself. Bottom Line --- I ordered it last week. 39 feet, 5 beds, 2 interview rooms. It will be awhile before it is built. We hope to have a dedication event to celebrate. I will keep you informed.

So happy to hear all is well. Talk to you soon,
