November 2009
When Mayor Nutter won the mayoral primary, I emailed a message titled "2007 Primary Election Results: CHANGE!!!" and highlighted it with a picture of Tug McGraw at the 1980 World Series victory parade holding up a Daily News that offered the headline "WE WIN." But now, like so many, I am not as enthusiastic about the Nutter Mayoralty as I had been when he won.
During his campaign, Michael Nutter aired a commer...

On October 16, 1995, I and millions of other Black men participated in the Million Man March. It was an historic day. A great day. It was without question the largest gathering of Black men to ever assemble in the US and probably the world. Those of us in attendance took a pledge to “love our brother as we love ourself.”
Today some would have us believe we’re living in a “post-racial society.” We have a Black president. We have Black billionaires, millionaires. We have black cards and black...

half-remembered and half-envisioned we can only catch glimpses of from time

celebrate with us whenever we come into our own power. Community means
strength that joins our strength to do ...

There are no compromises to make; either America enters the modern age like Germany, England, Canada and all the Communist countries and accepts NATIONAL HEALTH CARE or we will continue to have millions of Middle Class worker get thrown into poverty because of one major illness in the family, and we will continue to be out-priced in the internationa...
