Funding emergency at NCEF! Media...please support now to keep the support center open!

It's almost rent-time for the North Coast Earth First! Media office, so if you're willing and able to help out, now's a good time to do so. We've had a few new subscribers to the automatic monthly donation plan, and a huge "thank you!" to everyone who has shown support, recently and throughout the years. Please tell your friends and relations about the automatic monthly donation plan, or the "$10-a-month Plan," as it was originally called. Things have evolved, however, and now there are $5, $10, $20, and $50 options, for various levels of support. I figure that most people can afford $5 or $10 per month, and it creates an opportunity for people to get directly involved with helping the North Coast Earth First! movement, especially for the folks who have jobs, families, school, etc. and can't drop everything to come sit in a tree, run supplies, or otherwise dedicate their lives to front-line direct action. We still need a few more people to really make it work, so please sign up, if at all possible, and/or spread the word, so that we can build up the critical mass to really make this plan work, so that we can focus more on proactive projects and less on fundraising. The instructions for telling others about it is easy, too; just go to our website, www.northcoastearthfirst.org, and then go to the "Donations" page. You'll find a full explanation of the idea, and then several PayPal buttons; there's a button for making a one-time donation, buttons for subscribing to $5, $10, $20, and $50 automatic monthly donations, and then an "unsubscribe" button, so that people can cancel their subscription at any time. The original subscription is for 12 months, yet people can unsubscribe at any time, no hard feelings, no obligations, no commitments. It's easy to participate in, and easy to tell others about, so let's find the 100 people that we need to really make this plan work, and then fundraising e-mails will be few and far between:) Thanx again for your interest in and support of the North Coast Earth First! movement. Here's a few updated links for you to check out.... Next, I've started a new NCEF! I'm also trying to get about 100 people to participate in the "$10-a-month" plan, which now has options for $5, $10, $20, and $50 automatic monthly donations, to keep the North Coast Earth First! Media office going strong, and to have extra left over for the tree-sitters. I currently bottom-line the NCEF! Media office, as my contribution to the movement, which gives local activists a place to do e-mail outreach, use the telephone (flat-rate long distance), store their gear and donations, and more. North Coast Earth First! needs your help!

The North Coast Earth First! movement is still movin', in Humboldt County, CA, in efforts to save Old Growth Redwood and Douglas fir forests. There are two tree-villages, "Fern Gully" and "Nanning Creek/Spooner," which have both been going on for years and need your support. We also have a "North Coast Earth First! Media" office, which provides a space for activists to make outreach material, check their e-mail, receive postal mail, work with still pictures and video, and take a load off their feet in a safe environment. There are many ways to get involved, such as tree-sitting and helping to run supplies, and you can also support from afar, through our website, www.northcoastearthfirst.org. We know that many of you can't just drop everything, move to Humboldt Co., and go live in a tree for weeks, months, or years on end; we also know that there is a lot of support for saving some of the last Old Growth Redwoods left on Earth, and we want to get as many people involved as possible. So, I've come up with an automatic monthly donation plan, via PayPal, so that we can build up a solid support base for our movement. We operate on a shoestring budget, and we know that many of you do, too, so there are a few different levels of support to choose from. If you're on a super-tight budget, there are the $5-a-month and $10-a-month levels; you can also choose from the $20-a-month and $50-a-month plans, if you're working with a bit of a larger budget. If we can get even fifty to one hundred people participating in this idea, on various levels, then our movement would be set, and we would be able to focus more time and energy on proactive work, as opposed to fundraising just to keep the boat afloat.
