What Hell are we descending into when Beowulf has the potential to become a Hollywood blockbuster? Literature to the masses, perhaps? Perhaps...
I have many friends who play video games. Personally, I used to play RPG games when i was in high school (Return to Zork, anyone?) But I don't own any game consoles, no playstation, game cube or wii boxes adorn my living room. Heck, I don't even have a television! you know that saying, "some people eat to live, while others live to eat." fortunately (or unfortunately as you may see fit) i find myself in the latter category. I just read this article about how bookstores in Kashmir are finally doing business again because more people are reading. Every time I read one of Salman Rushdie's books, I am continually in awe of how much disruption military occupation and an international political presence really screw up everything for a country disparate in so many cultural, economic and social ways.
