about me
Tantra teacher, tarot reader, Sex-Ed instructor, psychic counselor. Magnet for teenagers, sexpot for one particular hippy, mother of 2 brilliant, damn-near-grown-up kids. Heavily involved in several festivals and pagan organizations, priestessing a mobile Tantric Temple, writer of many articles in pagan press, advice columnist for Open Ways, author of an upcomming book on Tantra. Certified orgasm donor, overly sensative psychic, serious healer, ridiculous punster, positive force in people's lives, negative force on the status quo.
So we may assume that this current reality is only a common construct that we all participate in, good or bad. We pay attention to the things that matter to us personally, while ignoring those things that don't. My reality is not anything like anyone else's because nobody has had my experiences.
So what about those who live a reality of suffering, like those in Myanmar now, or in the Chinese earthquake region? How could their common reality create such pain and needless death? If reality is just a construct, negative things like this would not exist. Indeed, we'd never know of such things, not even as vague myths, because reality would have been a construct for our entire existance as a race of beings....
Sooo....where are some "truths" we can say we know for sure? Are there any?

Maya sucks. It's like those stupid weekday afternoon soap operas or Hollywood magazines at the check out counter. Someone somewhere thinks that this is reality, and normal intelligent thinking people get sucked into participating in these made-up realities. All of this Maya sucks us in and we beleive for a period of time that there are truths to our day. Things like:
Gotta go to work.
Gotta pay these bills.
Gotta call Mom.
Gotta clean up after the dog.
Gotta do the dishes.
Gotta fix the car.
There are people on the other side of the world whose reality is much more like:
Gotta find food.
Gotta find shelter.
Gotta protect the kids.
Gotta find clear water.
Whose reality is more real? Which one is Maya? In thinking about those who are on the other side of the world, did you feel your 'pity meter' go up? Think about it....if you are sucked into "gotta fix the car, gotta clean up after the dog" you are fortunate, yes. But you are also more removed from reality than the second example.
Because reality is about eating and sleeping and fucking and having a clear source of water. It's about taking care of the next generation so that we can pass on our genes. It's not about "he with the most toys wins." It's not about "white picket fences and a chicken in every pot." It's not even about "getting back to nature." It's about being in your body where your body is being.
Yeah, I face rush hour traffic and bitch about the high price of gas. But I eat. And I sleep. And I never question my water, as long as I have my nifty little portable Brita filter, municipal water supplies, and western water science at my disposal. Gas prices cause worry; but the car causes gratitude. When the worry outweighs the gratitude....you're sucked....into the illusion that is Maya.
And it's not nearly as fun as Hollywood glamours or afternoon soaps.

Shakti can be seen as the "mother" of all things in the Universe, as Shiva can be seen as the "father" of all things. This is a very easy concept to wrap your brain around if you envision them as 'beings'....god and goddess with attributes. However, they truly have no attributes, except for Energy and Matter.
The same electricity that makes your coffee can also kill you. The knife cares not that it cut your finger rather than your dinner. Shiva and Shakti have no 'personality' per se; they have only a usefulness, such as electricity and knives. It is up to the human to channel that usefulness in a useful way.
To be "invoked" of Shakti means to be full of that Energy which begat all things. To fully carry the burden of "mother of all" one must know how to channel that Energy of Shakti into a purpose: create! And what's the use of creating something useless? If it's not helpful, necessary, or beautiful, it's not a positive use of Shakti's powers. Creating is what she does best.
But wait! What about Kali-Ma? The Energy of Destruction? Isn't she a facet, an angle, a personality of Shakti? Truly Mother Kali cannot be attributed to the 'Motherhood of all?" Ah, yes, but Shakti cannot create infinitely without infinite space and matter to create with. Hence, the need for the Goddess of destruction and the Goddess of Creation to be one and the same, even if different sides of the same coin. Life, Death, Rebirth, Life Death.....can't have Death and Destruction without it being connected to Energy....Shakti.
Hail Shakti...in all her facets....as we all send positive thoughts to our Mothers...
Om, namah Shakti, Om.

Shakti is usually seen as being 'personified' by more 'physical' forms: Laxmi, Parvati, Kali, Durga. It is said that all Goddesses are Her, and that is true; at least in Hindu Goddesses. Why is Shakti associated with Goddesses when she is only an energy herself? Because human beings have a hard time wrapping their brains around a concept that has no walls. Give an energy a personality, and you got something you can wrap your brain around.
That being said, Laxmi, Parvati, Kali, and Durga (and all the other Goddesses) are pathways to get to understand Her. If one becomes a devotee to any of these Goddesses, one is also a devotee of Shakti. There is no Shakti without Shiva; the Goddess forms provide a slight shift toward Shiva...only material enough to be more cohesive in the mind, that's all.
However, simpler minds take the Goddess forms and apply mythos to them, make them more "real" in their own lives. That is just fine for simpler minds. Higher vibratory people should understand that She is only a mutating, pulsating, all-encompassing, saturating energy form, nothing more....and nothing less!
The copulation of Male and Female, no matter where you find it, will be an act of creation. Shiva and Shakti are the epitome of that. Any time they get togther, something is created. The intentional act of embodiment of Shiva or Shakti is an act that says "Let Me Create!" To carry that energy is to walk around waiting for an opportunity to put the energy together with its' partner to MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN! And not just any partner will do....There is no Shakti without Shiva.
When He has finally penetrated Her, when the orgasm has focussed all the energy into one bright, breif moment, this is when the magick happens. His matter meets Her energy, and atoms, molecules, bodies, and planets are changed. The act changes to "Let There Be Creation!"....."Fiat Lux!"
And--if you are the one carrying and directing the Shakti (or Shiva) you (and your mate) are at the helm!
Be aware. Be very aware. One may attempt to create one's desires, only to recognize that it's manifesting one's fears.
This is normal. Deal with it.

That and well she is a real busy body that knows how to have fun while being completely serious.

Sienna.
Sienna, is a portal, an entry way, a living threshold, a path in and of herself. And probably doesn't realize it. She somehow manages, well, a whole frikkin' lot, actually, but the single most important thing is to ask (yourself), do you know her? And just think about how has THAT affected your life!
There she is, with a big smile and a sense of moxie and is able to just reach out to so many, either just 'waking up' to or still searching for a spritual path, whether they had none or couldn't find what they needed to feed their soul or head within mainstream paths. She doesn't tell you what to do, she just lights the way. I am very glad for her in my life.

An excellent spiritual teacher and a very *real* person.
Her Tantra classes embodies a philosophy for living life, and the atmosphere is very warm and very positive.

Sienna is a force to be reckoned with! She utilizes her individual style to create a REAL sense of power and change, much needed in this world. Sienna has broken down barriers and steriotypes of what a "successful and contributing member of society" means. She is possibly one of the most down to earth and honest people I have ever met. Activisim is a way of life for her, not just lip service! My friendship with Sienna has helped me realize how to be the better person I want to be, and she encourages me believe that I already am.

Hey, my daughter Amanda says her makeup kit came up missing from her camp. I'm guessing one of her campmates put it away in a weird place, but if you see a makeup bag from the "moonrock" side of camp, please let me know.
