"I know a bank whereon the wild thyme blows,
Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows
Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine,
With sweet musk-roses, and with eglantine:
There sleeps Titania some time of the night,
Lull’d in these flowers with dances and delight"

Midsummer Nights Dream by William Shakespeare (Act 2 Scene 1) Favourite of Shakepeare's play!!!

Midsummer...Lammas , Lughnassad , Litha....Time of the first sprout of grain (Sanai in Japanese)..time to Give Thanks for the Coming Offer our First Grain back to the Mother burn what we will not make room for what we will..and what will Nourish us!

Ah, and for All you Pyros...and Light Lovers..A Festival of Light and Fire...We Burn the Wicker Man..and soon comes the grand Burning man...

Me, just a faerie-fey..who likes to Play and Dance in the Woods!

Midsummer..time of Magic...Check out the Lights in the Sky.. in August...The Leonids, mid-month...the Aurora Borealis...later on....

Midsummer..time for Dancing Lights..and Faerie Play..Time of the Lord and the Lady..time of Robin Goodfellow (Let's Hear from You on thiis one, Sweet Robin!)

I wish you All Blessings...and Light...this Midsummer's Celebration...May your "Burn" be a Powerful and Purifying One...May your Inner Fire of Love and Creativity be Bright and Strong..and May you Kindle it...Lovingly...Spark to Pyre to Ember... to Pyre to Ember...Continous Flame of Life and Love!!!

note...I was gonna put a pic of a Fire...or Robin Goodfellow...but the pic that wanted to be "scene" for Midsummer is This one * "Midsummer Eve" by Edward Robert here..have a Gaze Into This one!

*I have an interesting history w/ this painting...I found a reproduction of this...when I was 20 years old and living and working as a vegetarian chef in Cambridge MA...that same year someone sent me the same image... as a Birthday card...and said.."This looks just like you!".
I have received at least 10 of these cards over the years...for Birthdays, for "Hellos", for "This looks just like you!"...I didn't neccessarily think "She" looked just like me..I do play flutes and recorders...I do wear "gossamer"...I do like Light Gathereings....So..after receiving so many of these cards..I have come to think of this as "my card!"...Funny and Fun...Anyway...hope you all enjoy this image ...and... Have a Great Midsummer's Celebration!

Loving Magic and Clarity to All!

midsummer flame
as I sit... admiring the green a golden woodlands
surrounding my southern Indiana home,

as the... sweat dripps down my back
gently tracing the delacate curves that my spine defines

as the... twilight approaches
and I hear that first cricket boldly sing out it's heart to the evening
and then, moments later, that first song bird welcoming the morning dawn

as this... moist and nourishing air soothes my lungs
and prepares me for a time of alkalizing dust...

as this midsummer meltdown
nestles me into a soft pach of clover
and into the cooling waters of the lake...

I pray...

with each of these unique attributes
to this season of abundance,
this voluptuous voyeurism
that my mama,
the one and only,
sexy lady nature
exhibits and seduces me with...

with every bursting tomato,
too ripe to contain itself,
and every jasmin flower
luring me to forget where I was going
and rest with her in her gentle nesting...

with each butterfly, fully transformed and matured,
bekoning me off to places where faeries play...

I pray...

I pray, that we humans may realize our folly before we set ourselves to flame
taking that easy escape from the humidity
with dry and crackling grasses
burning around our knees
lighting the wildfire that is set and poised
from our decades of ignorace
ignoring the overstimulating circumstance,
the truely *AWE-FULL* possibility
of an empowered planet,
set to rule us, as humble aspects
of her creation, and servants in the court of her queendom!

and so I pray...

by lighting this midsummer flame,
that we may let the underbrush burn often
so as not to set up the world
for such an explosive blast...
a wildfire of planetary proportions
triggered by our fear of letting go
and our persistance to remain dominant
in our human created control mechinisms...

I pray so that mama will not be forced to rip out the oil pumps
and throw them down upon the abodes of humans
in some sort of huranical uproar!

that she will not have to tear open the ground
to help us see that pieces of metal and paper are meaningless
in comparison to the effort of restoration and balance!

that she will not have to reduce the firtility of our kind
so that we will not destroy ourselves
by willingly deciding to live in piles of people
constantly making more to throw on the top...

if you wish not to explode,
than burn your fuel often,
so that it doesn't build up
to an unmanagable extreme.

for if things do seem out of control,
the only thing to do will be the hardest,

and that is...

..and let the flames finnish their dance of destruction...

for they are alchemizing

so that we might be born again from the ashes

and fly on the wings of the phoenix,

hearts open in a new kind of vision,

which is blossoming within the hearts of the open,

and in the hands of the children,

and in the soul of the planet...

I light this midsummer flame
so that we might have yet one more chance
to walk willinging with our mother...

thru the darkest night...

to witness the birthing...

of the new evolution...

Hail my faerie friend/sister Sue Silverstream
Mr Goodfellow should have been there with us tonight as we watched the Wicker man in flames with wild drumming and fire dancing so he could mesmerize us with his mindblowing message.

After dancing around the fire of Midsummer's celebration, I went to the center of the stone circle( a replica of stonehenge) and laid down on the central stone looking up at the stars. I felt grateful to feel the cold slab supporting me and the sky as my nightlight. When the drumming stopped, a dog howled as if on cue. I breathed deeply and felt grateful to be in this community where people honor difference and live in peace. I whispered thanks into the quiet of the night.

Mother has planted us all over the place( that means you too Goodfellow and all you other conscious cats out there on Sue's friends list). We don't make the 10 oclock news but we are out there living our Truth, praying for souls to awaken to the song of life, beating the drums of love, not the drums of war. Keep up the good work sisters and brothers. Keep sending that light out.

Yes, may we all be purified in this summer season and be tempered like steel for the days ahead.

May we all be strengthened by one another and by the flowers and the trees and other reminders of Divine Love in our everyday lives.
