I also just learned that M&M's *are* from the same idea of Smarties (in England), but they couldn't use the name Smarties in the USA because of a candy already with the same name, so they named them after the founders lastnames: Forrest Mars Sr. and R. Bruce Murrie.
I've also learned that the red coloring in M&M's is banned by Europe for use for children, and they use a different red coloring chemical there.
mmmmmmm great idea! i actually have a sex positive cool parent neighbor who did this for her kids when they became teens old enough to probably be having sex. she wanted them to not have any shame about using protection so she put a big bowl of condoms in the bathroom so her kids and their teen friends would not be unprotected if they fooled around.
she said at first her kids were appalled and embarrassed but then their friends came over, thought it was cool, and after about a year, she went from hearing exasperated cries of "oh MOM!!!!" to "hey, mom, the condom bowl is getting low."
Pain med talking bu funny so I'm sharing: Did you know that M's look like butts when they are turned upside down? So essentially you have large condoms in a bunch of white butts. So green with envy.
