<div>I haven't blogged in a while and I just sent a life status update to a friend of mine so I thought I would cheat and copy,past it here =]

As for me. Life in Santa Rosa has been nice. Everything is actually pleasantly mediocre. Nothing too exciting but nothing too challenging either. Its just sort of Manila. So I'm trying to spice things up a bit. I've started going back to school. A slow start, but a start all the same. I've also started to learn how to swing dance and I'm thinking of starting to teach again soon.

This semester I'm only taking Tennis, Body Conditioning (pe), Java programming, and Nutrition. I'm taking java as a career move opportunity and to improve my overall programming skill. I've never been formally trained. I've always wanted to know more about Nutrition and then tennis and b.c. are because im getting fat sitting on front of my computer 60 hours a week.

I'm hoping that I can manage to fit school, enough work to live and save some money, swing dancing lessons and for fun, AND maybe teach a poi class once a week somewhere. I'm thinking this might be too much to cram in but we shall see.

Some of the pluses of Santa Rosa I doubt I would ever be able to sustain such a schedule in the bay area. I live within a a 15 minute free walk to school and my free office downtown. If the fact that no one ever does anything fun in Santa Rosa was ever a plus i could be considered one when evaluating the feasibility of such a schedule. But then again maybe I'm sort. I have friends who do full time school and work and I'm amazed I ever see them.

alright thats enough ranting for now, of to my 9m Tennis class.

<div>Over two years ago a group of fire dancers including myself were asked to perform for an episode of HBO's show "Real Sex".

It was a pretty crazy experience to say the least. They finally aired the episode. If you want to see the episode which shows about 10 seconds of a very scruffy me I've added a link to the torrent

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/singe/blog/4907d686-fc0f-401f-a398-9ebbe928c168">  						          <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/765/a1f/765a1f38-f55e-4d83-bc01-a5875a507c61.thumb" width="54" height="78" alt="" />
    </a>
										<div>I imagine its inevitable or maybe I'm just telling my self that so i don't feel so stupid because this is arguably one of the dumbest things i have ever done. For the first time in over 2 years of straight traveling I fucked up a border crossing. I got all the way to the border from Laos to Thailand and realized I forgot to pickup my passport before I left Vang Vien. I left it with the hotel i bought the train ticket from so i couldnt cross the border. I couldnt even get back to Vientiane in time to change my train ticket so I'm out $30 as well. Lame!

Thankfully when i got back to the capitol the super nice owner of the hostel i stayed in when I was last in Vientiane were amazingly helpful and helped me arrange to get my passport brought to me tomorrow. Thank Budah I dont have to go all the way back to Vang Vien just to get my damn passport, that would have cost me two days. ARG!

So with any luck I'll be able to head back to BKK tomorrow night. WOOT!

    </a>
										<div>So I've been in Laos for the last 4 days or so. Its a pretty sweet country. I've wanted to come here for a long time because a lot of the people I have met on this trip have said Laos was their favorite country in all of Indochina. So far everything has been great. The people have been nice, the food has been awesome. I love iisaan food. and iisaan girls =p

I don't have any pictures up yet because sadly my camera seems to have a problem. Its blurry for some reason. I dont think its a focus problem because manual focus looks and sounds ok. Im guessing the innards have gotten moist. Does anyone know how I might remedy this?

Here are some pretty good pictures of Vang Vieng which is where I am not and its fucking awesome!
http://images.google.com/images?q=vang+vieng

I spent yesterday and again today floating down the Mekong river in an inertoob stopping every hundred meters at a janked together bar with an ever more janked together rope swing. I cant wait to post the pictures of the wooden monstrosity that towered 80 feet above the river that i climbed and jumped from. Crazy!</div>

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/singe/blog/c709619a-6554-4029-86cf-28c8677700c0">  						          <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/397/cd6/397cd633-5c75-4fa6-bd7f-3ff4e28eb981.thumb" width="65" height="48" alt="" />
    </a>
										<div>I know I haven't blogged in a long time so I'm just throwing out a small update that totally ignores everything I have been to lazy to blog about over the last, god what is it like 3 months? Bloody Ell. =]

So I'm currently hitting the 3 weeks left in my apartment in Bangkok mark. After that my plans are to head up to Laos and travel around for about a month or so. I think I'm gunna hit Vientiane and rent or buy a motorbike and just solo tour the country by my own two wheels. After that I think the plan is to head down in the south Burma and travel north.

There isn't a hell of a lot you are allowed to see in Berma but traveling is supposed to be painstakingly slow so I'm not sure how long its going to take me to see what I'm going to want to see. After that I'm going to attempt to enter India via the land border. I've heard few travelers do this. I haven't well looked in to it but it should be an adventure for sure!

I'm a bit sad I'm sort of forcing my self to leave the comforts and good times of Bangkok. I could quite happily spend the rest of my travel money partying it up in this wicked city. I could also work an go to school here. Which I am seriously considering doing sense I have a few years of general education uni to knock out and if I'm going to have to work at the same time it would be a hell of a lot cheaper to do that here. The only down side to that is no SF and more importantly no wicked awesome friends .

I stupid miss my friends from Cali. I cant wait to get back to them. There are still days where i crave the pleasures of that social network and I sometimes half kick my self for ever leaving in what seemed to be the beginning of an amazing time. At the same time I feel more grown up now and I'm confident that that will bare positive change when I return to an also more developed version of my amazing web of friends in SF. I cant wait.

In bangkok I have two close friends that I see on a very regular basis. Andy and Ollie. (see my myspace * for more details) Both of them are from different parts of England and are English teachers here. They are both considering extending there soon to be finished year contracts and staying another year. If they stay I'm seriously considering the idea of starting school here in BKK in the fall semester. Its probably not going to happen because I haven't begun researching it at all and I have no idea when it starts or what its going to take, or even cost. eeek!

But how cool would that be? Knock out my first two years of school in fucking Thailand; be wicked fluent in Thai, and pay a crap load less for school in the end. Anyway its just an Idea.

Ok that concludes this installment of "What the crap Jared is doing and thinking" so if you've read this much then leave a comment cuz I miss you =D

    </a>
										<div>HAHAH I cow just took the bread of my mate's motorbike across the street HAHAH!!!

So I've spent the last two and half days riding a 20 year old Russian Minsk from Hanoi, north, toward Sapa. We should get there in about 2 more days sense were taking every side ride we can find.

The first day sucked ass and was so discouraging I almost gave up but I'm glad I didn't because I'm having wicked fun now.

Day one was filled with first for me. So many that It was probably not such a wise Idea. This is the first time I have ever driven a bike with a manual clutch, the first time I have drive in the chaotic roads of Hanoi and the first time I have ever driven pouring rain, almost zero visibility and down steep mountain roads. I fell off twice!

Coming down the other side of the mountain, after dark, in the pouring rain I came around a corner, thankfully not going very fast, lost traction and laid her down. I wasn't harmed at all luckily, got back on, straightened my forks and kept going.

As we were slowly entering the city at the bottom of the hill I must have been in sock because I some how fell off again and this time cut my hands up and bruised my knee.

If the rest of the trip was going to be like that I thought, I should just go back now while I'm only a days ride away from Hanoi. The next morning it was a bright blue sky day with dry roads and a new understanding of how not to operate a bike. So I kept going.

These last two days have been wicked fun and I haven't gotten in to anything to hair. The closest calls have been due to stupid cows sprinting in front of me. I almost had a heart attack but I was fine.

I did however manage to hit a dog, it was at a low speed and to be fair it was totally his fault. It was as if he was running away from a train on the tracks and got hit, dumb ass. The sad part is he tried to chase me in an animal rage for revenge and possibly attacked someone else. As I looked back all I could see was some women running in fright so I'm not sure. =S

Ok enough with this Internet crap, I gatta hit the road yo!

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/singe/blog/c0e7c0a5-e008-4aa2-b28c-dfa8c218aca9">  						          <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/4d8/2c3/4d82c3a2-2e0c-4623-a6af-e4ebb6bd18ec.thumb" width="65" height="48" alt="" />
    </a>
										<div>I just got back to Hanoi from a 4 day Excursion in Ha Long Bay. For the most part it was crap sadly. It seemed that every single transaction my mates and I had ended in an attempt to scam us out of some extra dong which really just meant we had to argue with everyone over the cost of everything to not get robbed. Only a couple times we were blatantly stolen from, to our faces, so in the end it was just a frustrating waist of energy.

We heard a lot of horror stories about booking package deal trips so we decided to just take the bus down there on our own and do it peace by peace. As soon as we got off the bus we hail a taxi and tell him which island we want to go to and he responds by taking us to the farthest pier in all of Ha Long City. I'm convinced just to get as large a fare as possible.

The pier doesn't even go to Kat Ba island, where we were headed, and even when they do its just by super expensive private boats. It was getting late and we were all tired of the bull shit so we decided to get some food and crash in a local hotel and go to Kat Ba the next morning.

In the morning we catch a cab back over the new Japanese bridge to the pain pier, for half the cost the bastards. We poked around trying to book a boat and decided we would rather just spend two days hanging out on a boat then an island. So we found a guy willing to book us one day on a boat and one day on and island including a bus back to Hanoi for only $32 a peace. Including food, a cave trip, kayaking, and a jungle trek. Seemed like a good idea so we went for it.

dun dun dun!

so when we get on the boat we pay the guy to other half of our total cost and begin eating some of the best food we've had in what seems like days. Shortly after the meal one of the guys comes up to our table and casually informs us that three of us will be staying on the island that night and two would remain on the boat and then swap the next night. This was the last of many straws breaking many a camel's back.

We responded with a borage of complains and entered in a lengthy argument in front of all the other people we were potentially going to spend the next day with stranded on this boat. It ended in a stale mate as the the guy says he'll let us finish our meal and we'll talk later. This turned out to be his way of letting us relax on the boat, enjoy the beautiful scenery in hopes that we will accept his offer of moving us all on to the island that night and then the boat the next night. It worked. At that point we were tired of arguing and just took the path of lesser resistance.

The island in short was crap, we had the same exact meal again for dinner at the hotel. The hotel rooms were fine and even some what nice. We stayed up at a cheapish bar drinking until late. ( by drinking i of course mean everyone but me )

We stayed up so late we all decided not to get up at 7am for the included breakfast and the 8am jungle trek. The resulted in the guy, who shall from now on be known as 'Dick Ball', waking us up twice to command we get up and come on the trek. When we finally awoke Dick Ball attempted to charge us for not going on the trek and then fed us luck consisting of the same exact crap food. Yes the same meal three times in a row == crap. Not to mention some french guy who went said the trek, like everything else we would later discover, was a joke.

for those of you still with me, oh wait, it gets better!

After lunch Dick Ball then attempts to inform us that we will not be staying on the boat tonight so we will receive a free night in the same hotel for free. As if that was some sort of compensation. At this point we exploded, through social embarrassment cautions to the wind, and had a go at the guy. After long deliberations, much arguing, and harsh demands for out guaranteed money back. He agreed to make the store that he claimed was the cause of our accomidation change magically disappear and let us stay on the boat that night.

yay! we won!

and a damn good thing we did too because this turned out to be the best night of the trip and made up for all the arguing and all the scams we'd had in all of VietScam so far.

That night we all continues the drink fest but this time on a boat in beautiful waters with beautiful Swedish girls. This ended in skinny dipping, jumping off the top of the boat in to the sea at 4am, and Bow getting laid. EEASY!

The next morning however the Drama continues as Bow's ipod was stolen, we were all forced out of our rooms several ours before we reached port for now understandable reason and we were almost ditched by our bus to Hanoi.

All thanks to uncle Ho Cheat Mien. =P

This the first time in all my travels that I have felt like an assholes tourist. I know this, i see my self acting a way that must be interpreted this way by the locals but at the same time I cannot see hugely different way to act that insures I don't get ripped off all the time.

Being American and given Vietnam's history with my country I can not help but be sympathetic to the local's constant attempts to such as much money from tourists as they can. But at the same time they're just assholes about it. And in turn we get constantly frustrated and end up taking it out on everyone which isn't fare and it turns out to be this feedback loop of anger. I'm trying very hard to not let my frustrations out on those who don't deserve to bare witness to that and at the same time I'm numbing my self to the dick balls of Vietnam. Which could prove positive or negative, we shall see.

At the end of the day I'm having wicked fun with my English mates. I think I would be hating it here if I was solo.

We're meeting up with six Swedish girls tonight of some awesome Indian curry followed by some drinks. I'm feeling more like my over confident self now then I have sense I left SF so hopefully I'll be eating fruit tonight =P</div>

										<div>My English friends from BKK just came down from Laos to Hanoi. Today was the first full day we spent walk'n around Hanoi hav'n a bit'a good crack. We just walked the lonely planet recommended old town circuit and continued our search for edible food in Vietnam. To be fair its been quite crap so far. We did manage to find a Donar Kebab which is not only the best food I've had here but also some of the cheapest. Bested in price only by the street Pho.

Tonight I think were headed to the local time machine to head back to a 1995 rave except with fit Vietnamese girls that speak no English swapped for roll-tarded Americans that only speak e-talk. This outa be rich!

    </a>
										<div>I've been in Hanoi for about three days now. The coolest thing I have done so far was playing a hacky sack like game with some local Vietnamese i found on the street. It was awesome! Its played with this weird stack of disks with a few feathers attached to it. It was so much fun. I'll try and upload some picture of the feather disc thing they were kicking. I would have never tried to hack such a device but its actually a lot easier in some ways then a hack.

The food in Hanoi has been below par so far. I just haven't found my nitch yet. I went to this one place last night that was supposed to be awesome Vietnamese food with a bit of the profit going to charities which sounded cool. They ended up only serving keish (yuck!) Tonight I think I'm going to head back over to the old section of town and hit up the food cart buffet =]

My friends Tom and a bunch of his English crew should be showing up in Hanoi in the next few days which should rock. Tomorrow night is Chinese new year. I cant wait to see what the party in the streets is like. I'll post some pictures soon.</div>

...that's right my friend Nui from Bangkok is going to be in San Francisco for a few days around April 15th and I was hoping one or a few of my wonderful friends would like to show her the bay area that I know and love vs. what you can imagine a tourist would see spending three days in SF seeing the sights.

Shes a wicked awesome chick, that's her on the right [see picture]. I would defiantly trust her to stay on your couch if anyone is willing to be so hospitable. If not I'll recommend she stay at the "green tortoise" hostel.

If you are interested let me know and I'll give her your contact info so she can come party with you while she's there.

Thanks so much,

I was thinking of buying a few of these http://www.cloneawillykit.com kits and molding my penis with them and then giving them to any of my female friends who have in the past declined to sleep with me.

Its sort of my way of saying "I know you said you'd never sleep with me but just give it a test drive first, then decide."

										<div>I just finished watching a BBC documentary called "The Century Of The Self" and it is hands down the most physiologically and politically eye opening historical story telling I have ever seen. In short its about how Freudian psychology has affected the last 80 years, or so, of advertising and politics.

I highly recommend everyone see it. If only to inspire interesting thoughts. If not to fill you in on how business, and more recently politics, have, in ways, controlled the masses.

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/singe/blog/aa40391b-22d8-491d-8b96-747ed75cefe2">  						          <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/5ce/e57/5cee5762-93ea-4d4f-ad5e-68e3cf8b5a95.thumb" width="65" height="57" alt="" />
    </a>
										<div>So I finally got around to going to a ping pong ball show in Thailand.

Rachel wanted to go see a ping pong ball show. Jordan and I had been planning on going at some point but hadn't gotten around to it yet. Yet.

So Rachel, her friend Nate and I paid 200 baht each to go see this show. We go in and its a strip club style bar with three back ground dancers and one main girl at a time doing an assortment of shows. like:
the crack the egg in her pussy show,
the pull random long chains out of her pussy show,
the write shit with a pen in my pussy,
the open a closed coda bottle with my pussy show,
the pull a string of real razor blades out of my pussy show.
the fucking amazing pick shit up with chopsticks with my pussy show,

The chops sticks were by far the most unbelievable of all the shows. This girl use fucking chop sticks to pick up little rings and put them on the head of a bottle. She could use chops sticks with her pussy better then I can with my hands. But even more memorable then the chop stick show was the 'launch a banana out of my pussy show' and of course 'the ping pong ball show.'

The banana show was the 2nd show we saw. The girl pealed a banana, lubed it up, shoved it in, bent over and shot it out to be caught by her friend. After doing this over and over a few times she turned toward the three of us, sat down and began aiming at me. My response was to immediately screen "NO!!!" and jump to the left just barley dodging the flying Gina missile which then ended up hitting Rachel in the leg and rolling across the seat toward me.

I cannot believe I can actually say I went to Thailand and a stripper shot a banana at me with her fucking pussy! OMG!

At this point I'm way more freaked out there I already was but enjoying my self all the more too. We were constantly being hounded by girls for tips, to buy more drink and give them more money for a number of reasons. We consistently turned them all down, not willing to pay more for the show then we already had, which I could obviously tell made a few of the girls a bit bitter.

The bar began to fill up quickly over the next half hour or so and the girls were getting in to there performances a bit more. When the girl began popping open carbonated water bottles with her pussy and intentionally spraying anyone she could with it I quickly took over. The girl performing ran right over to my end of the stage, aiming at me of course, but I managed to narrowly avoid being sprayed. Nate wasn't so lucky and on top of it he some how got a bloody nose out of the deal too. I have no idea!

At this point I was on my toes. These girls had it in for us. I couldn't understand what they were saying but the laughing and pointing at me was clear enough. So when it came time to quiff launch ping pong balls at another girl with a ping pong paddle I took cover at the other end of the bar behind about 6 people and I still managed to take a well aimed ping pong ball in the right cheek. It was an amazing shot let me tell you!

This was one of the oddest and funnest times I have ever had. Completely weird, but highly recommended, is the Thailand Ping Pong Ball Show!

Wendy, you would have LOVED this!!

Missing my Massage Chairs

										<div>So the Singapore airport is ranked #1 airport in the world...... for people with expensive airline tickets that is. For people like Jordan and I on budget airlines we miss outs most the amenities of this great airport.

If you have a ticket on say "Silk Air" you may have posted some of the following snips found on www.sleepinginairports.com

"I dozed off while watching a free movie in the movie theatre"
"was amazing-better then my house- free internet, video games..what else could a lone 19 yr old American girl traveler ask for?"
"great rooftop pool"
"I decided to use the sauna in the gym area "

and all of that is free, to people who are not me or jordan. LAME!

So I have spent the last 21 hours not in a sauna chatting it up with single 19 year old American girls. Rather I have been getting crappy sleep in semi comfy coffee shop chairs and surfing the Internet. at least I get free Internet.

ok less complaining more having fun!</div>

Missed my flight

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/singe/blog/d2e227a0-64bc-4a5b-9693-f4b50558c9ce">  						          <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/9be/6cd/9be6cd57-f322-4fe6-aef5-805afb2eb562.thumb" width="65" height="68" alt="" />
    </a>
										<div>So I'm a retard and just missed my flight back to Bangkok from Singapore. This little 20 minute error just cost me US$116.00 . I also happened to, from the airport, find a cheap flight to Bangkok the next day for roughly 1/7th of the full fare offered by other airlines. This is the first time I have missed a flight and it could have defiantly been a lot worse.

Thankfully the Singapore airport is ranked the #5 best airport to sleep in in the world on www.sleepinginairports.com . I apparently have free massage chairs to look forward to =D.

More to come on why I didnt like Singpore...

Jared

p.s. the guy in charge of the Air Asia counter in the Singapore Airport is a dickball!
