"Jade the Blade" (I heard him called this over the weekend), yeah, he's cool. If you are lucky he will break you in all the right ways. For me it is the fabulous neck cracking. For others... well his reputation precedes him. He introduced me to tall man sandwich hugs and I was hooked as a friend forever.

What a great guy… Fun and flirty and full of flattery… Passion isn’t a strong enough word to describe what he has for love and laughter and life in general… He is an un-dimming light… And the life of the party, any party, anywhere, any time… Deeper than anyone else you’ll meet… Thoughtful answers to real questions that beget more questions… But that is just a part of this wonderful man… No matter in what capacity you know him, you’ll always want more… Try to keep up, he’ll enjoy the company until you tire out, and then look forward to the next time you think you can take on the King Kong of Energizer Bunnies… Likes to be a Knight in Shining Armor (Seriously…) and has crossed battlefields to bestow kisses upon beautiful ladies… (And this is a man who will see both the inner and outer beauty in all ladies…) And lastly… The sound of his laugh is one that you will never forget, always be able to pick out among a crowd, and do just about anything to hear again and again…

Jade, my new found friend. Words cannot express! Your smile, your laughter, you are a king, a prince, a hero, a gentle one. You are like a blue sky to a gray day, you are powerful, wild and strong (okay, I guess I do have some words to express LOL!) The time we shared, I enjoyed your wit and your bright smile. One only has to look into your eyes to see the intelligent, gentle man that stares back at you. I have been a member of the SCA since 1988. Always I have lived in An Tir. Throughout the years I have heard of the legend "Jade"; but, alas, like two ships passing in the night, we never truely met until May 2005. An Tir's crown tournament. Uthur, another legend became Prince of An Tir. That night, under the stars, with music, drums, and laughter, (Oh, yeah, lots of cloved fruit! GRIN) As I was exploring the possibilities this cloved fruit offered that night (for I do love to kiss luscious lips). I turned, at one point that night, and beheld a God that stood before me. Jade, your burning kiss, a thousand caravans may bear a wealth untold, the stones of India will pale. Give back to me that hour you placed upon my lips your burning kiss. I had heard Jade's name long before I met him. He is a legend among the sword and board of the SCA, and I didn't believe it was possible for a man to live up to all the hype.
Jade surpassed it all.
He is one of the most honorable, loyal, chivalrous men I have ever had the pleasure of meeting...and he can party like a Rock Star! He surges through Life, glorying in every blushing sunrise, and star-lit sunset, LIVING LIFE, not just trudging through it as so many find themselves doing.
The gods of mischief were grinning the day I met him. And I can't say that I regret it.

So like, I've known of the "legend of JADE!!!!" (TM) for the last 16 years I've been in the SCA. Awestruck, I'd never really spoken to him until this last year. And then I land this Bard of the West gig and get to be his Bard for awhile. And lo, it was cool, and he was great. So next thing I know, we've "friended" each other on Tribe, and ohmygoodness, we have incredible amounts of things in common, actually, and he's one hoopy frood. Incredibly deep, dark, and dense, rich with life and extremely interesting (am I talking about a dark chocolate dessert or a man? both are yummy...), and I'm looking very forward to learning more about this fascinating person. Besides, he's just a really damn nice guy. It's been a pleasure getting to know you better, Sir.
