What the *#@+ happened to French Toast Crunch?

   Mon, June 26, 2006 - 6:19 PM
I've never been big on dessert foods, but I am a snacker, and French Toast Crunch usually fit the bill (actually, Amanda just discovered them a couple weeks ago). Ninety percent of the reason that they are amazing is because they're shaped like tiny French Toasts. Now all of a sudden they are arriving at stores looking like Cinnamon Toast Crunch, which is to say, boring. What gives?

TRAVESTY
i just signed up for this forum after this came up in my google search of the issue. i discovered the change a few months ago. at first i thought the new picture on the box was a misprint. the shape, texture AND flavor had been altered to be pretty much identical to CTC. the only thing that differentiates it is a slight syrup flavor.

i called the consumer number on the box and spoke to a representative who said that the product was changed based on consumer preferences. i think this is probably true because most people i know were fans of CTC and didnt like FTC at all. i am the opposite so am clearly devastated. the rep didnt give any more details but i suspect that FTC has had lagging sales since it was introduced and that GM didn't want to discontinue the offshoot so they decided to keep the image but change the recipe to mimic the popular CTC.

am hoping i run into a box of the original FTC in some crap store that hasnt gotten rid of it yet.
