Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room

   Tue, August 15, 2006 - 12:43 AM
I just watched a documentary with the same title as this blog entry and it was really interesting. I didn't realize before watching it how little I actually knew about the whole scandal.

A bit of trivia: Enron was largely responsible for the rolling blackouts in California. Individual traders at Enron would call our various electric plants and have them shut down long enough for energy prices to go up (by 2000 percent sometimes) before selling our own power back to us, eventually bilking 30 billion dollars from California and effectively GETTING GOV. DAVIS RECALLED! It's not surprising that gee dubya did nothing about it at the federal level because Enron and Ken Lay were some of bush's biggest campaign contributors.

Enron Documentary
Yeah, I just saw this documentary also. I am much more informed about what really went on. Now that I think back, I really believe Governor Davis got the raw end of the deal by getting "evicted" from his chair. Voted out. Sad that he received no help from Dubby (of coarse not) when the energy crises hit California. I wish Baby Bush could have received a blowjob so we could have impeached him. For crying out louod, I guess that is what it takes to impeach presidents these days. Never mind breaking the law and starting a pre-empted war (invasion) But then again, who would want that sickening task? Anyway, I recommend this documentary! Thanks for blogging it.
