about me
I build the damned oddest things and I tinker with things I want to understand better, I love dance and teach a bit of it, I explore the world through my mind and wear my heart on my sleeve. I have an amazing little boy who is the largest focus of my life these days.
The turning of the year
(blog entry)
As is usual for me at this time of the year, with the solstice now just a few days away, I find myself thinking about the changes of the year... of growth and loss and the observance of how the world continues to move in it's own time and fashion....

OK - we're halfway through the run of Revels now. As ever what a whirlwind weekend. In particular the opening weekend is always full of ongoing small tweaks and shifts in the show - lots of fine tuning so that we never really hav...

I don't think many reading this would disagree with me that in some ways it's been a brutal year, with the loss of several of our number who now only remain in memory.
As the years go by and I grow older, more and more there is both comfort and w...

OK - we're halfway through the run of Revels now. As ever what a whirlwind weekend. In particular the opening weekend is always full of ongoing small tweaks and shifts in the show - lots of fine tuning so that we never really have the chance to take the show for granted. There isn't even particularly a chance to sit quietly between the two shows on the weekend because of the 90 odd minutes between the falling curtain of the first show and the opening curtain of the second sh...

just a few days now... and then I have no life outside of a theater except for a couple of days around thanksgiving.
For those who know me who have yet to actually see the show, you've heard me go on and on about how incredible an event this is to be a part of. The thing that is hard about it is that for a stretch of a complete month this show owns every free moment of my time. The fact that it gives back more than it takes is evidence of just how much of a lasting lift I get from it every...

"I'm tired of answering memes that were written by 14 year old boys in Idaho. "Have you kissed someone on the lips in the last 24 hours?" Please. So here's a meme for folks like us who live in the wonderful and diverse Bay Area, and who do not shy away from adventure, fantasy and spicy food."
Have you (not in character) ever gotten married in costume? If yes, how many times?
- No.
Have you ever go...
