driving from portland to Albany with no A/C

journeying today without a thought about tomorrow --
only facing a direction -- sunlight warming my face like an embarrassing moment
from the inside out the changes are evident on my
face to face to face i see those around me changing their tune
or is it I who have reluctantly or perhaps subliminally shifted in the tones that i
resonate with... the sense of dense reverberation lifting me...
i seem to be using more of my sonar for the knowledge
i once craved and used as pawns in this
wicked game of life...

In Portland

well---this town certainly is beautiful!! I am staying with an old friend from Seattle University of all places!! Get this -- so i am coming back from the trek and we have an end family meeting that the kids' families are all at -- mind you that i had not seen civilization at this point -- and there are a couple of visitors that are there observing the program just like i was in the first couple weeks of May -- so who rolls up on the meeting but my old study buddy for Statistics and Research Meathods Sabrina Hadeed!! HOLY SHIT!!! and it just so happens that she has a great little place in Portland that she has graciously offered to be my landing pad from time to time now that i am HOMELESS!!! heheheh -- i just love it when the universe looks you in the face and lets you know that you are on the right path!! THANK YOU SABRINA!!! She is also going to start working there next month!!!

So i have been chillin in PDX for the past couple days and the weather has bee wonderful!! long hikes through the city and dorky nights of Cattyshack and the like!!

well that's all for now -- i am going up to Seattle for the weekend and i should be there on Friday night or Sat for GAY PRIDE weekend!! WOO HOO!!

Back from first Trek the Oregon Desert

Well i am back from my first trek and boy was it nice to take a shower after 21 days!! I am going to be putzing around Portland or Seattle it seems until my next assignment which starts on the 3rd or 4th of July! Next is a service project for a week, then some horseback riding for a week, then river rafting for another week! Holy shit this company is cool!!! woo hoo!!! It also looks like i am going to be taking the role of lead therapist on the next adventure so bring on the paperwork!!! So I am working until the 30th of July then I have 6 weeks off which takes me to the 14th of september!!! yeeee haaaa!! So it looks like some time up north with my folks and a little seattle time then a relaxing 2 -3 weeks @ BRC with a 2 weeks post trip for decompression!!! yessssssssssssssssssss!!!

So the 411 on the trip was mostly good. I was training with a seasoned guide and a Therapist who had only been on 1 trek before this one and was a little unsure of what the hell was going on and what her role was supposed to be so it was challenging to conceptualize what my role was and what her's was as lead therapist! But dynamics aside the experience was cleansing on a physical and emotional level and i am looking forward to working more with the kids.
The SE oregon desert certainly is a beautiful place! I will have some pics soon that is for sure!!

Well for those of you who read my last post know -- and for those of you that don't -- i was hired at the Catherine Freer Wilderness Program in ALbany Oregon!!! SSSOooooooooooooooo i will be moving out of SF ASAP and starting my first 3 week trek on the 28th of this month!!!

HOLY SHIT!!!

it's comming....

well as some of you may know...i am gearing up to take a trip to Albany Oregon to investigate a new direction in my life...Wilderness Therapist....www.youtube.com/watch

I will be spending friday, saturday, and sunday there where i will get to see a group come in from the field on friday and debrief with their families. Then on Sunday a group will gather and get ready to head off into the wilderness.

A group consists of 6 to 8 kids from 12 to 18 for 3 weeks in the back country!! This is not your little day hike type of thing....this is 3 weeks! With just the therapist and a couple wilderness guides!! WOOO!! HOOOOO!!

SSSOOOOOOO...... that is great and all but what it means if i get the job is moving to Portland to somewhere in the vicinity of ALbany for at least the first year....SO....if i get the job-----i am outta here!!

This makes me very happy and very sad at the same time....
