I guess the neat thing is that nothing in this world can make or break me... this I know to be true. I think the utter mundaneness of the sun rising/the sun falling, air goes in/air goes out, and the old rinse and repeat routine sometimes drives me to make decisions long over-due yet hastily made. Who knows. This too shall pass a sweet goddess reminded me not so long ago, and it always helps to breath.

I'm feeling second best...maybe not even "second" just not "first." Why do I need to be first? I can be the most devoted...feel like I am the most devoted; but I get in my own way, and I let "feeling less than whole" take away my power..soon I'm less than zero. {pardon the cliche}

I want to let go... but I'm afraid -- don't trust I'll be caught. {I have my reasons -- I've been dropped before; it killed me once}

Sometimes I yell -- yell at the world -- yell at you. I'm sorry, and its more than just regret. I've taken control of my inner energy; I've gained so much control -- still I'm feeling less than whole.

He was just a normal little boy
Playing with his friends
They flew kites over
the riverbed; on a dark and stormy night
and things would never be the same.

He had difficulties
playing with the other children
after he got struck by lightning
he was not right!
He had difficulties when he was a teenager;
could not get a date to save his life!
It's such a sad story to tell
but I know it so well because
I read so many books about this boy --
how he went off the deep-end;
sixteen years later from that night.

He got a job
working for the government
oh, it was a steady paycheck;
he got all the insurance benefits that you would expect
from the Postal Service....

But then
one night he went Postal on their ass...
he went Postal and never came back....

Its such a sad story to tell
but I know it so well
because I read so many books about this boy;
how he went off the deep-end
sixteen years later from that night...

But going Postal is not just for the government, no!
There was this guy
waiting at the Post Office
for what he thought was too long so
he decided to step out line;
head to the front --
very much faster than it would be aloud.
And do you know what he did?????
He busted into a Postal fit of laughter!

Don't worry FinnFans.... no one was really struck by lightning {unless you count the electro-shock therapy Sky went through for years before realizing the V-tech provides plenty of EMPs -- no therapy necessary....at least that's what he's been trying to convince his doctors }

I so much enjoy looking at Brooke's face over yours for an avatar... not that you aren't cute n all.... but she's a doll....

as far as the thong n bong... yes, indeed that was the original name. If you look at the pics for the the 'alleged' first year, it was at our house. Scooter and I were sitting around, smoking Bongs; yes I in a thong. And we said to ourselves, "selves, how can we make a difference?" In my opinion we were to take our thongs and bongs to the streets and raise money for charity. It soon came to pass that the thongs cost us more money than me made, and the combo of the thong and the bong created a kinda strange em-bare-assed feeling.

It was about that time our good friend Col. Tom said, "lookie here, I have a gong; surley this will attract more good will than y'all two in thongs."
So again with the bong, we sounded the gong, yet again we found the response was mostly people movin along... not intersted in charities, changin the world, not wantin to help, just covering their ears and like i said... movin along

NOW's when it gets good. we went back home and sat with the bong... got a bit bored, so Scoots brought up Ping Pong. He was an avid player, you see, had a table and all. So we decided that would do---yes that indeed would do. We invited a bunch of folks over to our pad, called it the Pong n Bong, and yes Tommy brought over his gong. The success of it all was overwhelming, not only was fun had by all, but we raised a bundle for P:EAR a local charity. We realized shortly thereafter we could make this big, and really make a diff... something hadda change and it changed in a jiff. We put down the Bong, we sounded the Gong, moved to the Lucky Lab, people came out in throngs (or droves or what have you)

So to this day, Col Tom brings out our old gong [it was his, Scoots, & mine as the band known as Sasquatch -- i loved hitting that thing when we covered Echos {Pink Floyd} but here I digress]
Now we've aquired some big sponsers and big bucks and we feed kids and take care of animals. Last year a few thousand bucks went to Dove Lewis Emergency Animal Hospital... this year we're shootin for the stars.

For the Love of Dog!

Anticipation of one of the best days of the year is flowing through me. The 5th annual Pong-n-Gong Charity Classic is right around the corner. I'm always scared I won't have much to say--- which is generally not an issue. Its one of those times when I feel WE can truly make a difference. Friends, families, kids, dogs, beers, and a Love of Ping Pong and Animals brings us together as we Celebrate Life.
